How much do you pay on average/what is fair market value per month for PR1-PR9 links?

Well probably not PR9 cuz there aren't very many PR9 sites on the net and the people who have them aren't selling links.

So I'm talking legit PR, with the link coming from a page that has that PR.

The scale seems to be exponential, with PR0 links going for between $1-5 per month and I think I've seen PR8 for $1,000 per month.

Once again, I'm talking about legit PR, with corresponding high domain authority and page authority. I'm not talking about deep pages with no PR and I'm not talking about someone creating a wordpress subdomain for you and trying to pass that off as a PR9 link because wordpress.com happens to be PR9. I'm also not talking about pages with high PR but no backlinks and no authority. I feel the need to specify so people aren't like "BUT TURDFACE, I SAW A PLACE TO GET PR9 LINKS FOR $5." No you didn't.

On average, what are you paying, or what is fair market value?

You gotta be stupid to pay 1 dollar for a PR0 link - Dont ever ever do that.

Personally myself I only rent PR4-PR5 links for 3 and 6 USD per link per month.

    Quality links or blogroll/footer?

I've never seen PR5 for $6/mo. Are they actually on a page with PR5?

$6 a month for a pr5 link? Where the hell did you find that? I'm currently searching for a PR5 link in the technology niche and the lowest I've seen is $60...

That's why I'm thinking it's probably on some site with spun content and 1,000 other crappy links.

I don't think you can come up with an average. Really depends on the site, I've seen links on PR 5 sites which I personally wouldn't even want to pay anything for. Depends on link placement as well, hidden in the footer you obviously pay less.

So after making this thread I got some PMs from people offering to sell me "high PR links" for cheap.

I asked for an example and it was a free tumblr blog with spun content.

Obviously those links are going to be cheap because they are worthless.

Was I not clear in my first post what I was asking about? I specifically mentioned that I was NOT talking about free web2.0s.

After I told that person that I wasn't interested in web2.0 links with spun content, they sent me another PM with another tumblr site which also had terrible quality content.

To be clear, I'm not looking to buy anything, so stop PMing me, especially if you are PMing me with spammy bullshit that I specifically said I was not looking for in the first post of this thread.

I pay about £6 per month for a PR6 homepage link and around £3 per month for PR5 links. Cheaper for same page rank inner pages.

You can't sell shitty PR8 links for $1,000.

If someone buys an expired PR8 domain with DA1 and PA1 and turns into a garbage site full of spun content and footer links, then no, you can't sell that for $1,000. It's not even worth $1.

If you run a legit PR8 site with DA and PA > 80 then $1,000/mo is possible.

It's not necessarily something everyone needs. If you're running a small site targeting a keyword that gets 300 exact match searches per month, you don't need that kind of link power.

There are very few PR8 sites, though, and many of them are no longer legit PR8.

That's why I specified in the original post that I'm talking about legit PR8 with high DA and PA and a link actually appearing on the page with the PR and not a footer link.

Page Authority and Domain Authority, two values given by opensiteexplorer.org.

greenkidnj.com is an example of a domain with high PR but low DA and PA. A link from that domain would be basically worthless despite its PR5 value.

That is a domain that was just sold at auction and no one currently owns it so I'm not trashing on anyone's site or anything.

This is why you must always always ALWAYS check into the PR sites you are buying links from. Step 1: verify the PR is legit. Step 2: verify the PA and DA are where they should be. Step 3: verify the site is indexed. If all three of those check out, then you can buy the link.

Sometimes footer sometimes in a sidebar. I always stick to less than 10 OBL.

Sometimes they are just links sometimes I put text around the links.

Footer and sidebar links are cheap and not that great for SEO. Maybe on a high quality PR5 site they are decent as part of a diversified backlink profile.

edit - that's why they are 6 pounds per month.

I see prices all over, from renting to buying. Try a link broker service to get actual today prices, they basically make friends with tons of webmasters. But your paying the absolute highest prices in most cases. Something worth trying, find the top 7-10 relevant sites in your niche that are pr 6 and above and happen to not be competitors and reach out to the webmaster.
