    Hiya everyone

Can you guys give some insight into how much value do you think the comments on our own websites hold, in terms of page content, to Google?

I think that the comments do matter, since the growing number of genuine comments on a website can be an indicator of good user engagement. I'm going to start adding some relevant comments myself on a few websites of my own and see if this makes a difference. But I'd also like to know what experts over here think about this.

I am guessing but I would say yes, they matter -

first of all, of course it just bumps up your amount of content.
Secondly, in the same way that google take notice of reviews on ecommerce sites i think they would possibly take notice of comments as an indicator that a site has a lot of interaction from its visitors.

Yeap, should be easy to do since just the names and writing styles have to differ a bit among comments.

You will need to switch between IP's and browsers that was at least what worked for me!

Agreed, but I'm actually talking about comments on our own website as a part of the content, not on others for backlinks.

Why would IP/cookies matter if I'm adding comments on my own websites? Sorry if the OP was confusing, I actually meant adding the comments to our own websites as a part of content and not on others.

Well, Google is not stupid so the other other search engines. I have tested for years and I can only say, the best results are with different IP's and different browsers. You an find lot's of tools that can help you to do so. One of them is TOR browser another way is using proxies. Just posting from your own PC instantly will help a little but you get much better overall results by following my advise.. Just my personal opinion.

How will Google or just about anybody know if I use the same IP/browser or different ones (unless there's google analytics or a 3rd party javascript on the page) for adding comments *on* my own websites. The only things that are the part of HTML markup of a comment are name, url, avatar and the comment itself (urls often disabled).

If you go arround commenting on ppl blogs in your niche you can live off just comments from the traffic one of the best unquie way to get fresh traffic.....

Adding comments to a website as long as you cheek them before adding them the comments are gold dust.

Commet building is more powerfull then add a website to google you can survie on comments alone.

    Blog,twitter,tumblr,youtube,facebook

Commenting on these websites in your niche can be more powerfull then normal indexed websites.....

I'm starting to think some people here actually can't read, their answers makes no sense.

Anyway I do comenting on my own blogs as well in the beginning just to make my articles seem more popular. Haven't seen any ranking benefit though but i guess the more content on a page the better. Just make sure you keep an eye of keyword density.

Every now and then I'll go on Upwork and buy several packs of 25 blog comments on my site(s) for $5.

Do they help with on-page SEO and rankings? No clue.

Does it make my site look better when people visit? Absolutely.

For that reason alone, I think it's worthwhile to have comments on your site.
