I'm thinking to make a (my first) movies/tv-series website and I like how this one ( http://www.tehcake.com ) is made and how it looks like.

I would appreciate some inputs from fellow BHW members who have some experience with movie sites, due to the new SOPA PIPA ACTA laws kickin in, do I have to worry more than before about the copyright laws and all the infrigements that a movie site obviouslly breaks ?

How much money do you think a site like the one above is making /day ?

Theres just so many of those out there, so if youre thinking cpa content locker.. Then I would not do it, cause the users know, if one site has something they have to do to watch the movie, then they will just find another site :)

It depends on where you live and their extradition policy with the nations whose laws you break.

Who cares what a site looks like? Ugly sites often convert very well.

I know the owner of the site and he does pretty well out of it :)

I agree the design may look bad but it's not what really matters for me. The "beauty" I see is in the potential of making money which my sense (because I don't have other kind of experience with movie sites) tells me is pretty good.

One way of monetization that I am thinking is to buy meathead's CLPro and lock the posts instead of the front page and set the locker to show up after ~10 minutes.

I don't know if it's a good idea but I think this will increase the CR.

"pretty well" it's good enough for me :)

Content locker don't go really good with movies sites. Why? because users know that if you lock it, there might be another page with the same content.
