How much content on a page before pagination is needed for SEO?

    I know that its not good to have TOO much content on the same page (thousands of words) in terms of SEO but its also not good to paginate your content unless really necessary. So, whats the limit on the amount of content (in words or characters) you should have on a page before you should paginate it for easier navigation and for SEO purposes? Does it not matter?

    What if I had like a three part tutorial -- and its like 4000+ words, should I split it up into separate pages using the built-in WordPress pagination?

    I would, that way you get a better bounce rate. Since they have to go to another page if they want to continue reading :)
