My Suggestion: Walk away from him immediately.
    Find a reputable/professional service provider.

There are lots of people who will claim that they
can do this or that for you simply because there
    is money to be made.

Thats pretty lame and shady imo and lol at "the high level of involvement we had with the owners of BHW in creating the structure and layout of the new link build section opening Feb 1st." who gives a shit!?

OP you are a buyer you have every right to ask what ever questions you like in the thread, so long as you are not actually trolling (easy to spot) then you can ask what you like! Feel free to stop by any of my threads with questions.

Why would a company with $17K budget be interested in a spammy monthly packages that cost $297? And on top of this he claims to be Guru....sorry OP but it is your fault

Is BHW really "sponsoring" that service as claimed in the sales thread?

There is nothing "revolutionary" there lol

Some of that stuff is DEF NOT "money site" worthy that clients pay $3k a month for lol

Also...using a gmail email address is a huge red flag....surprised...thought "guru's" knew that...

You did come across as a douche, but I must agree on some of your points. In the real world advertisers can't say "we're the best". Such superlatives should be avoided unless you say "we're #1" and have the market share to back that up.

To answer your question, the reason you are feeling pressured to edit your post, I believe is because something shady is going on. A business with integrity should have no problem answering any questions.

OP, I applaud you for standing your ground and not bitching out. In my opinion, any service in the market place that delivers garbage with a big price tag (not talking about anyone specifically here) should be called out on it. It's also great that you are asking questions instead of just finding the service with the highest price and going for that.

I'm not sure how much you know about seo already, but if you're completely new to it, I'd recommend you to get familiar with some of the basics first before buying any seo service. It gets easier to seperate a good service from a not so good one, if you know exactly what they're delivering.

Edit: Just looked at the sales thread in question, and my first two lines seem a little out of place now, but I still mean it.

We have a number of landing pages separate from our main site for special offers. For $297 its cheaper for me to pay that out than pay for my staff to work on them.

This thread was about what we can and can't do (which i feel much better for with a mod replying) :)

TBH I don't know why a moderator would allow a thread with "BHW Sponsored" in the header anyway, clearly trying to pass it off as something that it isn't.

After all of the issues with people saying their service is "Penguin Approved", I quite like the way they've used "Hummingbird Compliant", as if Google released a load of checklists to comply with.

Also: "We won't use tools" followed by "300 Article Submissions, 250 Web 2.0s, not to mention the 5k wikis and the rest" nice try, building them by hand are we???

    Classic Sales Spiel.

If you are going to be throwing around such a weighty budget then you had better be asking as many questions as possible before purchasing anything. Do your due diligence!

Don't you dare feel bad about asking questions or think that it is wrong. Your questions will help other buyers and will help keep the seller honest. No seller here should have anything to hide.

I think your doing this whole forum a favor!

Flake some of that budjet off the top and I'll book you a lovely Holiday Inn in Scunthorpe with a lovely view of the Local Chav estate.
