How many searches a day would be a good threshold to aim for when selecting a keyword for SEO purposes?

I'm having some trouble finding a good keyword.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Depends on what you're aiming at for a certain minimum influx of visitors to your site from SEO alone. Some SEO research studies show that being able to get the number 1 position, on page 1 of a Google search results for a keyword translates into assessing about 42% of the "market" of people actively searching for that term (i.e., 42% of searchers who see your site ranked #1 for the term will click through to your page).

If 17,000 searches a month happen for that term, that means about 7140 visitors a month if you're number 1, or 238 visitors a day. Is that enough volume, you must ask yourself, for how you have set up to monetize your site? How many people who reach your site click through the Adsense ad, opt-in to your list, or go to the affiliate LP? Of the latter, how many buy, or fill out the offer? If you know these conversion stats, you can quantify how much incoming uniques you need to be viable.

For me is 30,000 per month. Because u most probably will not be number 1, more likely 4-10 positions depending on SEO etc etc.
