I scraped 50 proxies last night and yahoo had banned me within 5 minutes...

So it makes me wonder just how many one would require to complete a full run...

I am gonna leave it for 30 mins -1 hour and get 100+ and try, maybe even longer, let it run to the end.

This is bullshit all the proxies I try seem to be already blocked?

I even tried some shared ones I'm using and blocked.

I also tried without proxies (and I haven't even used this with YSE) and blocked.

    Fuck you error 999!

It depends on how many connections you're using at once but I've never had an issue with getting yahoo banned using the BC and I run through big lists. I usually run through with about 600+ proxies but I don't know why your proxy harvester is taking so long. Are you running off a slow connection? I can test a list of about 13k in 30min while doing other things. Yahoo is pretty hard to get your proxies banned, are you sure you have "Use Proxies" checked? I've accidentally done that more than once.

    Weird.

I'm using my VPS which has 100mbit conn.

Also what are your settings for proxy harvester to get through so many so quick?

I did some searching around and lowered the connections to 5 which seems to have stopped the 999 problem using only 8 shared proxies but it's real slow :(.

Also how many connections you using on BC?

On the BC, I use around 45 connections (I'm running off a home network). As for the proxy harvester, if I'm just looking for proxies for Yahoo (a dime a dozen), I'll lower my timeout to 20 seconds and my connections to around 50. I usually run a 13-15k list through the Proxy Checker once a day and I'll use those proxies for the rest of the day, filtering out any stale proxies in-between tasks. I usually start out with 1.4k really good proxies and end the day with 1k good proxies.

Man, I don't know what I'm missing but I have just been testing things out....

I found that 14 connections and I didn't seem to get 999 with my 8 proxies but when I bumped to 21 I got almost instant 999- which would indicate not enough proxies....maybe but why did I scrape 50 and it still happened?

Also something weird seems to go on with BC. I turn off proxies and it still loads my proxies in there even when I don't have any proxies in my list.

I was trying to test and the SOB still loaded my banned proxy. I wanted to take the one banned proxy out but it would still be there when in BC.

Also where do you get an awesome 15k list for proxy harvesting? PM if you don't wanna broadcast or maybe give me a hint via pm if you don't wanna reveal the source.

I'm not sure what else it could be...only thing I can think is I didn't have proxies checked last night when I had the 50 on but I'm pretty meticulous about that stuff. That or my lists are bad- I'm using standard SB list...something else?

Maybe that's why your results are different if you are using a less used proxy list since I found I could get reliable results at lower cons with my paid shared proxies.

    ---

Update: Man, on your recommendation I realized my connections were low and my timeout settings were maxed for the proxy harvester lol. My reasoning at putting timeout high initially was learning it helped for commenting so I thought it might help for harvesting proxies. hehe.

I just flew through the list with 40 connections and 10 timeout.

Learning Scrapebox really is a skill unto itself.

Man, I see what the problem is here- it is jammed using the same proxies. Is it because I am using multiple instances? because it seems to be 'defaulting' to my 8 shared proxies which are in use in two other instances even though I scraped new ones in the SB instance I just loaded BC in.
