I was following 990 people a day and then the next day unfollowing the people that did not follow back in my business niche category. I was following based on hashtags that have to do with my business. I got an email after about a week of this saying i was suspended for spam following. I got my account unsuspended but i was wondering if anyone knew a good limit for it to not get caught?

Yeah I think everyone nailed it above, around 250 would be a safe amount! Good luck! :)

I strongly believe you got banned for unfollowing the people the next day. I usually mass follow the same amount you're doing till I hit the equal amount of my followers. After I hit that amount I wait for a day and start unfollowing till there's no more to unfollow that are not following back
