Hi guys. I was wondering how many pages should a niche site have nowadays in order to rank in google? Will 15 pages suffice?

You can rank a site with one page, it's quality not quantity.

And One page site is quality?
What is wrong with these people.

OP: It is really hard to say whats the average number of pages for micro niche site. People are doing these type of sites from 1 page to hundreds of pages. And you can rank a site with any number of sites, but i really doubt a one page site will stick on the first page that long.

There is no need for such pages at all. They don't improve anything. Much better to add media rich pages with relevant content.

It doesn't really boil down to the number of pages you on your website.
Even if you have 1,000 pages, if your visitors always feel that someone who had learned English seven days ago wrote your content, I'm afraid you won't be ranked on your keywords within your target time frame.

Remember that a site is being ranked based on the traffic it gets.
If people find your content engaging, alluring and entertaining, you don't even have to manually build backlinks because your visitors will do the backlinking for you. They will share your content to social media platforms.

I disagree, I think Google takes more notice if a site has an about page, contact page, FAQ, privacy policy etc.... Not only does it look more professional to your visitors, it establishes trust in googles eyes!!!

How many pages does your site need? Well that depends on the niche and the product! But quality over quantity is definitely the way to go :)

as long as you don't target 50 keywords for a page you are ok with a single pages as well. If you can just have one single page for a niche what is the need of other pages ?

I don't think google has ever stated that you can't rank a single page website.

The pages that tend to rank for the big KW's, seem to include every single angle of the chosen subject/niche.

I had a page on pg2 for ages, exactly the same structure as pages I had in No1 pos', and on further notice, I saw that all page 1's included a certain word (a really general class of the chosen subject), and I believe this was the main factor for it not ranking, as it wasn't seen to "include all the relevant terms on the topic".

Moral of the story, wikipedia, thesauruses, and EDU sites are your friends.

There's nothing like a benchmark to create pages for a niche site. At the end of the day, we need traffic. Create something for them, not for those G spiders.

1 page is good enough. Less pages you have more weight you accumulate on it, each additional page will share some of weight. 15-20 is enough to rank for 10-20 keywords.
