How many of you think CTR can bring you up in Google? Suppose if you are getting huge CTR daily by search queries in Google. Will it help to rank you up in Google ? Is CTR really important for ranking?

Coz recently I observed, I had a website with 300 links for a keyword and I haven't created any new links but used a traffic bot that searches for site in Google using that keyword and click it, and I have reached from #69 to #20. And the site was at #69 from last three months.

What you think CTR has played a role or it was just a coincidence that I reached 20 for no effort?

Any chance it has something to do with the mobile update instead?

Personally I believe it does (along with many other factors of course). It makes sense that a website that gets clicked on a lot/the most is more relevant to the search term. Same reason I see bounce rate being a small factor as well.

By no means would I weight it the same as solid backlinks, but might as well have your site as strong as possible in all areas.

    There 's a nice list at http://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors, check #128.
It says: Organic Click Through Rate for a Keyword: Pages that get clicked more in CTR may get a SERP boost for that particular keyword.

And I'm sure it helps your serps, Google records every move you make on the result pages, for them it's a good indication how usefull a site is, especially when your bouncerate is low.

Pretty sure it helps, have done tests on various times + certain pages to make sure an update didn't affect the tests. Although I did this on a very low comp niche based site so I'm not sure what sort of impact it will have for higher comp. My pages jumped about 20 - 30 spots then 5 - 10 back and then settled. Saw a consistency throughout all pages. So my bet is on: It does help :)
