With a couple of projects I'm doing really well, but with a couple of other much larger projects I'm not there yet, but I will get there.

From my experience, it's sometimrs not the project which is wrong but the audience which is not well known or the product which needs a little difference. I saw in some cases that a product which was red instead of green could do wonders.

I hear you, it's all about testing and testing again until you make it. Congrats and good job @Willyfish with finding out how to make your products work for your customers

There's plenty of obstacles and many times when you want to quit
But hard work and the drive to improve is what makes people succesful
Also the willingless to adapt and evolve, if something isn't working for months, maybe you need to look at it from a different angle

Well, it depends. You can work in marketing also in a company that you like. I would see that the main advantages you can have working in a company is if you love the brand and the product is something you can relate on because it's in conformity to your values.

For example I did work 9-5 for a nonprofit realising the dreams of sick children, I did marketing and communication there. It was very fulfilling and I would say better than grinding to try to "make money" with shitty products or service which make you wonder why you even wake up every day despite having to pay your bills.

Man this is so true, what I want to do is to build a company that I can direct and hire developers and a team instead of me alone sitting in front of my computer

I am not succeed still but I will never stop trying and never give up!!!

Im a student with a job. Im not in this business to make insane sums of money or just to only live off this business. I think its really fun to progress, and see money or convert into sales.

Im finishing up my degree, and will probably have a full time job after this summer - and I will still do my projects on the side. Its fun, and if it earns me a 200$ extra buck a month, while doing minimal, and having fun doing that minimal - I sure can keep it up a long time.

But yeah, I would never quit a job or something with only savings to go fully in this biz - too risky for my liking.

Success? -No it is not a success story. It has been years since I have managed to find a way to make money online somewhere around 5-6 Years. I took the initiative to look for ways to make money online, as my older brother had created a good and quite profitable method with google adsense (talk in 2013-2014 when they had good profits and it was very easy to made money online) I looked at my brother's statistics and earnings on the computer he left at home. I was not able to understand how it worked, I could not understand it despite every effort I made. He offered me a lot of work to help him and make money online but still I could not understand. The reason why I understood was because I was used to staying in the "Comfort" area and when I heard about something for the first time I said I do not know, I can not do it and I left with the thought that I could never learn. Okay the years were running out and I was still not able to make money, why why why (The only reason why a person will not be able to make money is: not taking the initiative to work and develop skills for something.) I told myself that I can not do it, I know that not making money will be in vain. But after a few years I managed to create some profits around the instagram platform, it was the first time I managed to make money through the internet, it was somewhere around $ 100 sales and what I sold was an instagram with several thousand followers. Despite the fact that minutes, hours, days, months and years passed slowly without any income I started to say to myself stop, it's time to get out of my comfort zone, time to google on different platforms how I can win income. And after I managed to make $ 100, it took me another two years to stay without making money. And an idea came to me, I had learned to make a perfect page on Instagram. I got involved with a business that offered clothes. I set up my own online clothing store and started advertising the products offered by x companies. I managed to make around $ 700-800 in a week, they were very good days for me, I was very happy. I sold the products only in my country, possibly and in the city where I live, I managed to generate more income, every day new ideas came to me on how I could create other ways to earn. Then I started to transport the product myself by bicycle and at an x cost for transport. (This was available inside my city) as outside my city it would be too far and tedious for me. To believe that I experienced it very well, I was so happy that period that I said I will never stop work is something beautiful, fun and entertaining. But after a while I started to leave it behind and finally closed the store completely as the comfort zone started to invade me again. I finally closed it and it has been almost two years that I am not managing to earn money online. And my time is wasted, as I start to develop something and then I like something else and start dealing from the beginning again. That's why I told you, despite the fact that time is running out that you are not succeeding in business, services and everything else you should never give up because one day you will be rewarded for the effort you have made all this time . (Even the owner of FedEx started from scratch, spent a lot of time losing a lot of money, but he never gave up he wanted to solve the problem and not leave it unfinished.) Success is achieved only through work and deeds.

Im going to add on to this point by saying, it takes seeing results to really keep you going.

Once you start seeing results or get that first check from an affiliate or Adsense, it’s enough to get you hooked.

I am just getting started and I can't give up now.

I have to admit that it's very difficult to start from scratch and start making money, and don't think that only the beginning will be difficult - it's not a smooth ride even with a business under way. I myself was tempted to give up recently especially because of the latest google updates but in the end I tell myself that I can still make a living from it and I'm passionate about digital marketing so as long as my business allows me to make a relatively comfortable living from it I might as well continue to tryhard (even if my income has dropped a bit recently)

Where people get lost is trying to over specialize or tunnel vision with online shit. There is no medal or prize for ranking higher on Google just for the sake of a better SERP. It helps to keep the eye on the ball and focus on actual conversions or money. What the internet gives a wise man is infinite potential leverage. If you lack a product or angle that can benefit from leverage, get the fuck off of the internet. You need at least the idea of a bridge if not an actual bridge to sell to people. You can't make money if you don't have nothing to sell.

Yes, different people have different taste. Online work is not suitable for all.

I personally gave up on my journey in online money making - at least for now and the coming years. There were more bad times than good and overall, I missed out and sacrificed so much because of it. In combination with duties here and a far-distant relationship, I was crushed under the weight of work, responsibilities and personal unhappiness. I quit and I did also quit my far-distance relationship, which is a relieve for someone young like me. I now work in an office in IT support. Still invest in crypto currencies and sell maybe 50$ worth of SEO packages a year on Fiverr.

Wish there would have been a breakthrough with freelancing or online marketing. There wasn't. I made decent money by investing and risked it and lost almost everything. That was not the reason for quitting though - it was the circumstances and the low-income of freelancing online and failing overall.

I feel alive in these months for the first time after such a long period of time.

To be quite honest here, I don't really see how and why would someone give up earning money online, it's not like you are stuck just with one job that's pretty specific and then you decide to move on from it as it didn't give you expected results. There are a bunch of different online businesses and jobs, and if you don't succeed in one sphere, you will do it in another, and you will only have to be open to learning new things and adapting to the current needs of the market. I don't know anybody who tried hard to earn some money online and didn't succeed eventually in it, but it requires some patience and consistency as here results often don't come over night and you need to try and test different methods to find clients, get to new gigs, and so on.

In 95% of times You always need to fail multiple times before you see your first success

Yep, I need to have this kind of balance in my life.

Doing work just for the moolah doesn't work for me so I keep some zero fee community projects in my mix most of the time.

I've burned out in the corporate world ages ago and since getting back on my feet understand the value of meaningful work.
