theres only one up to date internet marketing degree that i know of - but am still sceptical of whats been offered its at full sail university - will set your back about $50k

was actually considering doing it just for the hell of it, but from the looks of things you really have to work your balls off! LOL

im self taught, been screwing around with computers since i was six (Im 34 now) - but am always looking for new ideas and directions and to learn, $50k could give me a $million ideas... to me i dont think its expensive when your realize and understand what you can get out of it... but i wouldnt do it if you think its going to be a walk in the park...

the campus looks badass - heard good and bad things overall, everyone to their own... once our baby gets here and things are a little less chaotic i might check it out since they offer an online version of it to...

With all due respect im sure that will only put $$$$ in the whole. Where I am sure you can learn a hell of a lot more from the people here at BHW. Its more cost effective and right to the punch.

I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design and that set me back 60K. All they taught me what how to play with font and some design. It was more drag-on than anything.

They didn't teach shit about business, and thats why I wish BHW was around when I went to college. It would of saved me 6 1/2 years of bullshit..

i dont think its worth the cash to do the other courses as i dont see you being able to make back the $$$ that you spend on it that easily...

given the proper direction you can become extremely proficient at web development... take joomla for instance... if you get good tuition or resources and look at how people put together templates you can do some stunning work, this will save you $$$ and make you $$$ - learn how to create components for yourself all the information is there you just need to find it, and it will be better than it costing you $50k :)

IMHO web dev is saturated... i really dont even bother with it i do it mainly for my own projects now... this is coming from someone who has a web/seo company... after years in the game you will realize its just not worth all the bullshit you put up with from clients :)

which is a shame as i used to be very passionate about it doing web development...

there are so many web dev guys out there who dont fully understand seo and dont even consider it when designing a site, it leaves the door wide open for people who do know about seo... it keeps us in business! lol you can have a million dollar website but if no one can find it....

i am already very experienced and well versed in SEO & IM am only considering the IM degree for personal reasons, almost as hobby or just more of a different avenue to search for more new knowledge that i can put my own spin on it - i certainly wouldnt consider going into debt for it either....

yea bud that's what I wanted to do since 9th grade and im a 19 now. But I was going to do a logo for this guy on a car forum and his site happened to be affiliate marketing related and blogging on how to do it. He's been teaching me little by little and even reffered me to this forum :D I still havent done his logo lmao because i'm 2 caught up in learning all this. I kinda do wanna get a degree from fullsail though to break the ice and get out of my circle cause community college fucking sucks. teachers suck, always late or cancels class and there is no motivation :(

Wow, who would've thought that many of the schemers on BHW were edumacated. That's awesome.

I work in marketing FT, but my undergrad is in history and my master's is in journalism. I worked as a journalist and a PR person before jumping over to marketing.

Side snipe: I guess my education and professional experience are the reasons all of the faux editing software (aka article spinners) and poorly written articles going for two dollars in other forums makes me feel weird inside.

    Yep, (cough), absolutely, unequivocably.

A Degree in Failure, and a Doctorate in Website Marketing.

Came from the School of Hard Knocks in a State of Life.

Those Titles were not even in effect when I got started...

    Has it been worth it?

    PRICELESS.

Would I pay $50K today to get this 'type' of degree? Nope -
This industry (more than many others including hardware) changes so rapidly that a course in the basics is great, but to keep up a strong and effective training program in the Top end of the market is most difficult for this industry -

Hell, it changes 30-90 days out or is no longer relevant at all...? I think you just have to be in the "shit" to develop a profit from it, and change and progress with the Market - Or else.

Hmmm, or else you could go back to school and learn...?

At least this IS a career choice where you CAN learn it on your own (not school). That says a lot right there.

And if you are not already enrolled in the BHW School of Thought... then do I have an affiliate link for you! (LOL)

    Interesting responses....

I must have the strangest degree set of the bunch...

Double Majors in Particle Physics and Marketing
Double Minors in Applied Mathematics and Business

Not one computer class though.. And I run a hosting company and several WH ventures along with other personal technical pursuits.
