How Many Marketers Use TrackBalls Instead of a Mouse?

I'm curious if most marketers use a regular mouse, trackball.... or maybe a touch pad?

I've never actually touched or used a trackball before. But I've seen some videos on youtube and they look really interesting. Like you just spin the ball with your fingers. And don't have to move your wrists as much (or so it appears). But I read that it's not as easy to click as a mouse since you have to roll the ball and click separately.

Touch pads are cool too but my palm always hijacks the cursor which I can't stand.

My optical mouse is dying (can't clean the lense no more it's all scratched) so I want to buy either a premium trackball or a highend mouse. I'm not sure which to get.

And FTR I realize I can get both but I'm curious if anyone actually prefers trackballs and why?

    Thanks,

    -BB

As a gamer I got myself a nice mouse and mechanical keyboard, and now I can't stand using low quality stuff (especially keyboards). I also have 2 laptops and HATE the touchpad on both of them (Macbook and HP). That being said, I can't imagine that many people use a trackball nowadays, but I'm very curious to find out.

Anybody remember those weird little felt "mouses" on Lenovo ThinkPads?

I remember in high-school it always threw me off, I was like "WTF is this?".

You can barely move it and it sits in the middle of the keyboard, but you can click on the entirety of the screen; shit was weird to say the least!

Look at getting a gaming mouse and keyboard as well as a good mouse pad.

Gaming mouses have better build quality and some come with weights you can add or keep off depending on how heavy you like it to feel.

Mouse beats touchpads for everything except for when your chilling out on your bed and your watching a certain kind of material.

Gaming mice are also wired, so I don't have to be doing something one second and then the next my mouse goes haywire... where are the damn batteries... oh right there they are.. shit I need more.

    Gaming keyboards are wired too.

    Amen, brutha.

I love the Naga. Where did you get blue? My blue one broke and I had to buy another one. Tried finding blue again and they discontinued it. Boo. So now I have green.

I use a gaming mouse for IM work. It conveniently has a double click button, page back, and page forward button; all 3 of which I find useful.

Never heard of trackballs, might look it up later.
But I have always, and most likely will forever, use a mouse.

I use a mix of both, one is easier than the other for certain tasks.

If you're gonna get a mouse get the Logitech MX. It's a great mouse - not too expensive and super comfortable.
