as many as you can.. if you look for a video that is number one on youtube for your niche then copy their tags and you will show up on the related videos on the side
of their video... i don't know why i just shared that:rolleyes:

Then you can copy the tags of multiple videos to become related to all of them?

Are you serious? I thought youtube hates it when you copy other people's tags and descriptions. Atleast mix it up a little.

One tactic I noticed people on Youtube use is they find a very popular publisher such as failblog. Then they watch carefully for the next video release (usually failblog is like one a day).

Then as soon as failblog releases a video, they take the title (lets say its "HORSEBACK RIDING FAIL" and then copy it a bunch of times in the description. So for this example, the description would be like

    "Video ____, *Link*,

horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail, horseback riding fail,

and in that way when you visit the failblog horseback riding fail video, their video shows up at the top of "related videos" on the right hand column (or near the top, underneath featured videos or other channel videos).

Just thought I'd share that, and hopefully you can make it work.

Thank you for sharing, but I got one question:
Do the videos have to be just released, or can you also use videos that already have been a little bit longer on youtube?

Another idea that I use all the time: Take your video and use it to post a video response on a top ranking Youtube video in your niche. This WILL get you more views!

I don't see why it would matter. If it's popular use it, if not, try to make it work for you.

Yeah that's very true. Might as well link to anything popular.

However, I bet a bunch of people are doing this already, and by being first you might be able to get some crucial momentum in the beginning, which will up your view count and make it more desirable to watch. I mean, personally I would watch videos that have 1,000s of views over a few hundred so getting those first views is very important.

Also, when a video goes viral, it will get thousands of views in a short period of time (like the first few hundred thousand in just a week. After that, it's getting old and everyone has already seen it. It will still get a steady stream of traffic, but you really want to ride that initial wave of viewers.

That's just my take on it, though and you should experiment for yourself to see what works best! Goodluck.

Add as much as tags you can. Your video will get higher rank in search if tags match best to the search keywords.
