How many impressions do you usually give to an ad before you make a decision to remove it? Is 1000 impressions good or do you let it run more than that? I am talking about PPC and Adwords/Adcenter.

    Karupoiss,

I typically start tweaking things or stopping the ad at around 300 impressions if there are no clicks. Ideally, you want a click through rate of at least 1% on your ads. If after 300 impressions no one is clicking, there is typically something wrong. For example people may not see the ad as relevant to their query or it may not be compelling enough to click on.

    Hope that helps,

    Shawn

You should create several ads, and do some a/b tests. To find out which is the best ad among all. You cannot really decide upon one running ad whether it's good or not. You need to compare its effectiveness against other varied ads

You should run multiple ads, filter out the good ones, see which keywords are converting, placements, etc.

Thanks for the replies. I have 6 ads running, some days some ads do well, other days other do better. I have had each ad have around 1000 impressions. They are:

    1782 imp 0.79 CTR
    1434 imp 0.91 CTR
    1393 imp 0.79 CTR
    1879 imp 0.59 CTR
    1443 imp 0.76 CTR
    896 imp 0.45 CTR

    Overall CTR 0.73

So, I should probably dump the one with CTR 0.45, 0.59. Thing is, should I keep running the ones with CTR 0.76, 0.79, 0.79? They are all pretty equal.
