    Hi members :)

Nowadays, we spend many hours everyday with our computers, working, learning, watching, playing ... etc.

In BHW forums, some members face the monitor for 8 hours, others 10 hours and some guys more than 14 hours !!! I think that we spend more hours than others, because the kind of our work
    :ebay: |||SEO & e-Marketing|||.

But what about our "healthy life"?

We all know about the ill effects of 'electromagnetic radiation', from computers, mobiles, power lines ...., this toxic radiation can change some cellular movements in your body, possible can be damaged from these low level radiation over time are digestive problems which can cause constipation, abdominal pain, diarrhea, acidity and it can rob us from negative ions and may lead to decreased oxygen levels in blood leading to stress, fatigue, irratibility, headache, difficulty in sleeping and generally bad health condition, and without talking about the long-term consequences like many kinds of cancer, nerve & eyes diseases... :breakpc1:

    So, tell me,

    * How many hours BHW members work on their computers each day?

    * Are you thinking about your health when you start working on your computer many hours everyday? & what do you think about that consequences?

Just about everything and anything can kill you these days. Nothing we do is really all that great for us. Too much sun gives you cancer. Using cell phones gives you cancer. Standing close to a microwave gives you cancer. Hell, even eating cooked food gives you cancer.

Consequently, I try not to worry too much about stuff like that and just live life the way I want to live it. We're all gonna die someday, no use dwelling on it.

everything too much is bad. I worked about 70 hours a week to make my income growing steadily daily. I was working in automobile for 50 hours a week earn $2500 a month, but i prefer im better. IM is the best job, fun, and bring me steady income that grow each day.
To be healty doing sport is necessary and 8 hours sleep.

You guys need to get away from your computers. Some people become so pre-occupied with success that they forget that they are becoming what they were once trying to escape. I mindless unhappy drone. Some of the most important things I have learned have come from just sitting in my kayak in the middle of the lake watching the birds and the bears.

Yeah, I've been thinking about the health effects of my computer usage as of late.

I've definitely have had some bad side effects that are probably in large part caused by 10+ hours a day of PC usage.

Do those screen covers that some people have, that attach to and dim out the screen negate some of the the side effects of working infront of the PC for long periods of time?

How does it work "pretty well exactly"? What improvement have you seen since wearing this? Is this just a placebo effect or is there a scientific rationale to how this may help?

I wouldn't worry about radiation. I'm sure most people get more radiation from sitting in front of a TV.

However I would worry about sitting in a chair and not moving while eating cheetos for hours at a time. And of course there's RSI...

I wouldn't worry about this kind of things. People who watch TV often will get more amount of the radiation than we take.
It's not this kind of things that will make our body in a bad shape. Lack of exercise and eating too much junk food and hormone added food is what make us sick.

I control the contrast and brightness of my computer very low and put radiation absorber layer so 14 hours a day in front of computer will bring very little effect to me.

Stop for few hrs a day excercising and u'll be fine. I used to spend most of my day on computer except 1 hr getting sweat at the gym. But now GMAT occupies more of my time.

in the early days i used to sit in front of computer for more than 15hours playing games and believe me once AOE strategy game is released i played it continuously for more than 35 hours even without drinking water. i was around 67kg in 2002 and now i am 108kg all because of sitting in front of pc.

i have not even adopted a simple morning walk for past 7 years and now i am bulgy, addicted to smoke etc.., i won't blame computer for all and in full, because it is just a machine whereas i have to make up my mind to reduce weight as well as avoid playing games and get involved in other online unnecessary activities.

still now can't make up my mind to reduce weight or get out of smoke. may be i am missing something.

Webkumar - Perhaps when you need to smoke, you can go outside and take a walk. That way you keep the smoke out of your house and get some exercise at the same time. :)

You guys got to realize something. Any money you make comes out of someone elses pocket. Money isn't just something that can come out of thin air just by wishing for it. You in most cases have to provide or create value. Something people will be willing to pay for; that goes for advertisers or customers. You'll notice this forum has a huge dropout rate of noobs because they eventually come to realize the internet isn't seperate from the real world. If you couldn't run a real business like a skate shop at the very minumum then you probably won't succeed here either. Most people come here thinking in a few months I'll be making $20,000 a month. That is a crapshot and you might as well go for the lottery instead.

If you are willing to work hard like in any other job. Put in the hours and the effort, then you can absolutely make a decent living through the "internet," but by no means is it a magical place to create an unlimited amount of millionaires. Work hard and work smart and any of your aspirations are possible.

hahaha..health? does health translate to money in any language?

    j.k.

I go to the gym atleast 5 days a week. Do some swimming, cardio etc. I do spend a good amount of 12-14 hours a day on the computer. Also, most importantly, get a nice chair. Taking care of your back while sitting on the computer is the most important thing.

Well, no one can ignore this problem, but what we have to do is protecting our bodies from like this effects at any cost. what if you wake up someday with some physical symptoms of a bad disease because of your PC? or not expected?

Like we plan before promoting offers, we should plan to save our bodies from any threat comes from this electronic products, especially the computer.

If your are working 12H/day for 2009 that means you devide this year and give the half of your life to your PC just for money? what about your health? your family? your LIFE?

I suggest adding some good daily activities to your life: sport (N°1), promenading, visiting friends/relatives, travels .... etc.

After searching I found this topic useful to know some precaution tips, read it:
