Anyone? I've been getting more and more into it. Hope it pays off...it has many fans. I've spent about an hour today doing it.

    You?

I think a lot of people here outsource it, as it is pretty boring. But I personally used to do it myself, and saw measurable results with it. It works, given you're commenting on high PR blogs that aren't spammed to death.

I give 5-6 hours for manually blog commenting in a week. As blog commenting is my last seo technique that I use to promote my blogs. Blog commenting is offering me some traffic therefore, I am using it.

Blog commenting on high PR pages always gives better linkjuice. It is always helpful. Time is needed to find some high PR pages though.

I like your sentiment here, but the reason why is to see if others are achieving success with it. I see some people LOVE it, some don't.

It varies from site to site and person to person. If a person is very expert and efficient in his work than he can do much in less time but if somebody is new in SEO than it may take some longer to do the same in a day.
If the keywords are very competitive than very hard work is required, but if the keywords have low competition than a routine working can raise your rank to 1st page.
So in my opinion it depends upon niche and competition.

    Good luck outsourcing it...
I cannot imagine the horribleness of giving some VA a list of 30000 PR5+ pages and go "comment on all of the ones you can and drop links"

    1) it would take them days (I can personally process 30k by instinct alone in about 2 hrs based upon URL appearance hints)
    2) you'd be handing them an already sorted list of PR links they could spam and make worthless
    3) Such a list is worth a lot more than what you paid them... ergo good luck keeping them from selling it if they knew anything.

My logic is every PR5+ page I find that is commentable and d0follow is worth as much as a blogroll link on PR5 homepage... so something like $20/yr

Since I have at least 500 PR5-PR8 blog pages (all from unique domains of course) that are unspammed in my text file atm... you do the math

The number of PR3 and PR4 pages in my LowPR text is just too long to count... I can usually get 100 comments to stick (that are d0follow) with one unsorted list...

I've been trying to get 100-150 high PR links out per week per site I'm working on (so about 2-3 hrs minus the scrapebox sorting, generating and checking)

You're doing auto approves, or moderated blogs?

I use Scrapebox to harvest and post to both normal and high PR blogs. It's pretty useful for searching and posting rate is good for PR1-PR5 links , above that they'd probably be using captchas and either you use the slow poster or manually do it. Make use of available tools to achieve what you need, most of the time it gets you more done in less time

Expertpeon, yeah you were the one who I always see touting the merits of high PR blog commenting, not that others don't...I see you saying it quite often. Thanks for your input.

I'm still waiting on results from large campaigns... unless you consider what I've seen to be results already (though I think it has more to do with the huge pyramids I do, the changes I've seen to this point).

In another thread I posted a smallish SS of YSE for this new site I've been SEOing this last month (outsourced + some other stuff, and a lot of manual comments). I was hoping someone would have something to say about it in that thread, but it was buried on page 25 hehe:

I spend 5 hrs per day for manual blog commenting and that's going very well. But you should write relevant comment so. Otherwise the authority of the blog refuse your comments.

30 minutes max. Plus the time scrapebox takes to find them. The better one i find usually by finding backlinks to other sites that rank high.

Then manual commenting without the use of any software.
