I have found a domain which has the exact keywords, but the keywords only get 2,100 searches per month!

Now, i don't know if thats a decent amount, but is it worth all the effort of setting it up and all the SEO etc? How much do you reckon a site like this can make??

2-3k is the min I look for when targeting a niche. When it comes to the amount of money you can earn it all depends on the niche your targeting unless your wanting an adsense site then its cpc.

Depends on the keywords if its say "Buy a horse now" and it has a low exact search its going to be worth it. If the keyword is "horses" then probably not.

just find 2-4 more keywords in relation = more searches

I'm just starting on a few projects and I'm gonna use 3 keywords per niche with 1900+ searches each

Well it really does depend on the niche.

I have a site that gets less then 200 visitors a month but if I get the a customer there worth is about $3-9k easy.

Don't just look at searches per month only.
I find better to use organic traffic estimates:

    Organic Traffic = Searches per month * ( 100 - adwords CTR) /100

^^^ This will give you a better estimate of the actual traffic you may get.

If it is *very* low, it means google is playing against organic competition (adwords and self-promotion).

    Hope this helps.

It is Click Through Rate = CTR , but what he is trying to say is not so clear..I understand it not because of him , but because of my experience :) sorry dude:)

In google search results you see some sponsored results (over and right side) beside the organic (natural) results .. You should disregard the clicks that will go to those areas (google adwords areas) .

So if you have 5000 exact volume search results maybe 20 % will already go to the sponsored clicks..and you can think your filtered searchers/visitors like 80 % * 5000 = 4000 not the 5000..

But things are not so easy with only disregarding adwords visitors..there are so many factors influencing that...And also how to find true "Adwords CTR" although u run an adwords campaign it will give u a CTR of just certain ad rank..If you dont spend some money on it (i.e. to rank over the google results' top area /content ).. you will never know how much CTR taking that ad space...

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

I don't think there is a hard minimum.

Sometimes even 500 searches a month can be profitable when you are making some very high commission sales. It depends on a combination of profits per visitor and number of visits.

I have niches with 300 exact searches a month that make way more than 5000 exact cause of the profits per sale.
