It's hard to tell. Each person adjusts risk differently. It's all about how many projects you want to learn about. Do you have that much free time?
On a different perspective, if you invest in BTC, ETH and some privacy coins, you will grow steadily. When a side project grows, the others grow with it. It's a popular saying: "xxxxxxxx" is good for Bitcoin. Replace the x's with anything you want. ETH 2.0 is good for Bitcoin, UniSwap is good for Bitcoin, anything in the crypto space is good for Bitcoin. And the other way around. Whenever a new set of people learn about crypto, every project grows. A good example is DOGE. When DOGE was popular, ALL the coins grew.
What I'm trying to say is: pick a coin that is still relevant in 5 years or 10. You'll make profits with any good news.
p.s. of course you will not get the insane profits, but you can't find those anyway. It's mostly luck
p.p.s. if you really think to diversify, invest in other areas: robotics, AI, biotech, space race, etc
