How many backlinks should I build per day?

if it's easy for google to find out about links built, why bother releasing new updates to fight spam,
you're overestimating it dude

not at all, my friend. Website promotion is not spam, you are confusing backlinking with advertising :)

I really don't want to take it that far (into a debate or something similar),
so, I'll just throw my point of view

but google doesn't really get the difference between a website promotion or a normal backlink (built or not),
in the example above, such a website will get natural links that looks the same as guest posts or pbns (without including the traffic),
these links will come from crypto bloggers who want to write about the new coin, news websites and maybe hundred if not thousands of them in a little time frame

your point that google crawler will get these as website promotion rather than links built,
and as I said above, with maintaining the high quality of links, google crawlers will have no chance to actually spot the difference,
if they could spot the differences and already doing, most of the people websites here shouldn't be ranking and none of the links sold or built should be working at all, even if you build 10 links per month

mate, you are giving me theory, but I am telling you that it doesn't work like that. Last year I built over 1200 backlinks to a 3 months old website (fresh, clean domain) within a week and the website is now somewhere in google's obscurity realm. There's a reason why SEOers advise building backlinks slowly.... to fresh domains I mean

You have probably had positive experiences with this (it's possible given how crazy google is lately) but I prefer slow and steady for domains that I care about (especially new ones)

So much misinformation surrounding this on-line.

It's SO NOT TRUE that you need to only do a few back-links daily.

If you think about how 'news' works, REAL SITES get bombed with TONS of high quality links daily, when credited as 'the source' for valid information or content.

"News" goes a long way and gains site authority within hours.

When you trickle few links, no social signal, etc..... trying to be methodical.... You're actually doing work that's counterproductive in the long run.

Focus on quality and sharing content to build naturally. Fear not, adding as many quality links as you like, as long as things are done with a high quality standard.

Use reddit before you use trash sites.

These "news" outlets are established domains and have already built up a high velocity over time.

For a new domain as @tazarbm mentioned there are different rules of engagement.

I too have been stuck on the tendacy to build up links impatiently to new projects and they either gain some traction then crash or never make it at all.

John mueller said "we expect backlinks to evolve over time"........

Even 1 backlink immediatly is unnatural. Who has heard of you in one week or 2 weeks to link to you so fast?

Im now waiting atleast 2-3 months before building first backlinks, and they will be in the realm of 1 at a time for a few months.

This approach also makes it easier to guage what effect each backlink brings you.

I had a site that i accidently learned from. Built zero backlinks in a year, it got no traffic, then in year 2 exactly i received a backlink from a shitty domain who used an image i had and linked to me via text link below it and the site with only 100 posts gained consistant 500-600 organic unique clicks per day from that 1 backlink because it looked very natural given the timing, even though the referring domain had very little power or authority.

Imagine the traffic you can gain from 1 "natural" looking link if you just wait on a site that has 10,000s pages of content.... and from a referring domain thats actually DA 80+

I have a WordPress blog that is almost 10 months aged. I got some pretty good and valuable links and I want to build them to my blog. Question is, how often should I build? Is there any "spam limit" to pay attention?

I spent too much time on my articles and general SEO works, so I don't wanna loose any ranking by mistake. Thanks for helping.
there is no such thing as a "spam limit"
what types of links do you want to build?
you can read Matt Diggity on how to start building links for a website.

For 10 to 1 year old site you can get 1-5 backlinks/day safe . Try to make random numbers of backlinks to look natural

If you want to build high-quality backlinks, then start by building links from high domain authority websites that are also relevant to your niche and trusted by searchers all over the Internet.

Honestly I doubt there exists any limit. But I suggest keeping in mind these rules of thumb:

1. Watch the link quality
2. Keep the growth rate (you will need more and more)
3. Use various receiving pages
4. Keep natural d0follow/n0follow rate about 1:4
5. Keep natural anchor/non-anchor rate and diversify anchors

It's all my personal opinion, ofc :)

The Internet is chaos, messy and non-standard. If someone says: this should be 10 links a day, he certainly does not know what he is talking about. Be natural in linking, google will find more in one day and fewer links in the next.
regularity and accuracy = unnatural

If you build high-end links then there's no limit as you won't be able to build many anyway... too expensive or time consuming.

yes but it depends on your site age and current velocity or total backlink count.

a site with 1million RD can easily build 10,000 links in a day without getting slapped

a site with 0 RD or backlinks adding 10,000 links.......... is a 1st class ticket to the abyss

Google looks for spiky growth, it says so in their patent.

This is a good point.

Depends upon choosing linkbuilding, I would suggest niche related organic way of linkbuilding per day 1-2 with dripfeed method would be perfect
