    Hey dudes (and dudettes)

How many backlinks per day is safe for a money site? I was chatting to a guy today who said he averages about 50 backlinks per day to his money site..

Does this sound ok to you?? Or could I push it even a bit further and go for like 100 a day??

My site is over a year old and I've been slowly building backlinks for a while - but I feel it's time to give it some serious overhaul.

I think you should keep it low. Now, if you have articles, posts, comments, whatever else pointing to your money site, then I would blast the mess out of them, but the money site ... I would keep it low like you have been.

I would say you`ll be fine adding 100 a day on a domain over a year old. Just try and make it look natural as possible. If you are really worried create say: 5 web 2.0 properties with 3 quality articles each linking to your money site then blast as many backlinks to them as you can. This has worked very well for me. Keep the good quality backlinks you find for your money site and all the rest for the web 2.0s. Good Luck

It doesn't matter how many links a day you get. What matters is link velocity, and tricking Google into thinking you deserved the backlinks.

Like ... if you have a website that hasn't changed in 6 months and suddenly gets a big blast of backlinks ... that looks fishy. It is far better to update your content and then do a big blast of backlinks.

If you haven't gotten any backlinks at all in the last 6 months, then suddenly you get 300k over a month, then after that you get nothing -- that looks fishy to Google as well.

The most perfect linking pattern would start as a high authority backlink, followed by a sudden burst of backlinks, then a sustained, constant supply of backlinks over time. That would make Google think your site did something newsworthy, then as the news spread everyone linked to you, then over time the news is no longer "fresh" news, but you still have a steady supply of incoming links ... so whatever you did must still be notable.

Big fluxes in backlinks without a reason looks fishy to Google, and makes Google dances all that much longer, with all that less increase at the end of the dance. Simulate a viral event to the best of your ability and it will minimize Google dancing and provide the best SERP gains.

It is not fixed that how many links are you making each day for your site.. If your site is older and a good PR then you can make 100 links per day without any -ve effect possibilities.. If it is a new site or less PR then you should be very cautious about quality and quantity of backlinks..

I have tried before blasting xxx links per day for new sites that are around just a month or two..nothing disastrous happened..and my rankings continue to climb..I think link diversity might be the key as I have a few web 2.0 props, links in articles dir, etc..
