I just found out I have been banned by akismet and judging by how little commenting I did, I guess it can easily happen again. I actually had 10 of my domains banned (all on the same IP).

I am thinking of commenting using bt.ly shorteners instead, but I am just wondering, how many 301 redirects to one site is it possible to have? Since a 301 redirect says permanently moved, if you have like a million addresses saying that they have moved to your site, isn't that a bit odd?

First of all, Are you sure Bit.ly Is a 301 Redirector?

Best is to register another domain name, Make a 301 redirection, Keep Spreading the comments again! $10 Wont be a problem i suppose! Even, You can get .info DOmains less than $4.

Yeah, too Many sites giving You 301 Does Make it Feel Odd! But We just dont know the Maximum Number :D

    From bit.ly's page

    How does bit.ly work? up
bit.ly works by issuing a "301 redirect": a technique for making a webpage available under many URLs...

So I am assuming it is.

I also saw that link before -- I did search on the topic but even though 301's are covered here on BHW I didn't really find much on specific numbers and ability to rank for them.

My problem is, I can't afford $10 or even $4 per domain which can get slapped by akismet so easily. It's just not worth it to me. I would of course spread out the risk over various 301 service providers so that.

Please also see link here for info about it. I'm thinking of mixing it up with shorteners from various services and also co.cc until the money starts coming in.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.

So nobody knows a max number? Cos I've got a feeling that I will get slapped by akismet again...
