I'm promoting a White Hat e-commerce site right now. Have been since early march.

    Here's a chart of it's progression:

Site got indexed back in March around spot #300. Jumped to spot 110 around April 17th. Then to spot 45 on April 29th. Since then it's been stuick between 40 & 50.

I've been publishing articles (first to the site, then distributing out after indexing) and using BMD to bookmark each page from the get-go. I try to post between one and three posts to the top 3 niche blogs each week as well. Dropped links on Digg comments pages that have PR as well.

In the last two weeks I had ankur420420 do a run of registry submissions for me. I've had xbox360gurl70s produce 5 more articles which I'll be distributing out shortly. I'm also having foreclosureking do a XRummer run for me and I'm having Talisman click post some PR5 Do-Follow blog comments.

I hit my sister up to drop some links on her Eastern Michigan University homepage to try and squeeze some .edu linkjuice (I'm going back to school myself to the University of Michigan in the fall, so I'll drop links on my own page too) so that should be happening in a few days.

My overall point is, I'm not sitting around on my ass here and my site just won't budge out of that 40-50 range. Only guess I have now is that it's in the sandbox. When will this bugger get out?

When your competitors are sleeping, you should be working. When they are eating you should be working, when they are making love...well you should be making love too but working really hard. Words of will smith in 2nd person format. :)

There is no sandbox as such any more. The reason why you are ranking this high is because this is what Google thinks you should rank as. All the bookmarking, web 2.0 and other directory/article links will not give you that extra boost you need. I am not sure how competitive your keyword is but assuming that it is, you will need high quality backlinks from related/established websites and hundreds of them. You can't expect to dominate a competitive keyword using mainstream backlink sources.
