I am setting up a test run of about 10 or so autoblogs. I am going all out with them and creating custom themes, loading with all the great plug-ins, etc. I am even testing multiple plugins like WP Robot, CC, Autoblogged, and all that jazz. Anyway...how long is a reasonable amount of time to wait before I should start earning? I want to give it sufficient time but I don't want to beat a dead horse either. Just curious!

That depends on what other work you will do to promote them. Just making them and sitting back won't get you much earnings, you need to promote, promote, promote! Build your quality links, do your seo work and the money should start coming in, imho

You should not waste time making custom themes for auto blogs. Get them done fast and promote them quickly. It took me about 1 week to earn 1 dollar a day in a high paying niche like finance, monetize only with adsense. But it basically depends how you're going to promote your blogs.

Ping, submit site map, bookmarking, build backlinks, articles marketing, social network, video marketing etc...

I agree that you should pick one or two themes and run with them. I use "gotham press" for most of my autoblogs because I'm familiar with it, and it provides all the ad slots I need. You will be banging your head if you use a custom theme for each.

I have been doing what the above poster said...using autoblogged and WP Robot, pinging, submitting, bookmarking...the whole deal. I've yet to generate any income on them, but traffic is steadily increasing to 100 uniques a day after two weeks. I'm using CPA offers on most of them.

I am getting decent traffic already because of my SEO tactics. My site has only been online 3 days and I am getting 75+ unique hits each day. I realize that generic themes can work fine, but I am creating themes that will capture the person who visited my site. In my experience with blogs people will trust your site more if it is completely themed within the topic. For instance, if I were to create a baseball site I would have a nice header, baseball's for bullets or other icons, etc. It's not a headache for me to create these themes or anything either and I actually enjoy doing it. Thanks for the input all I will let yall know when I start earning! :)

I use a generic AdSense optimized template for all my blogs. It's extremely easy to set up and it's simple. All I have to do is design a custom header relating to the topic.

Custom sites look great and increase visitor trust, but you might be losing money if your ad placement is wrong.

I agree that AdSense optimized templates are great and that you will lose a lot of money if you poorly place ads. I am running some tests with ad spots and also basing a lot of templates on other templates that were said to perform well for clicks. It's all a waiting game I guess. If you try enough stuff you are bound to earn a buck. ;)

Let us know how it goes! It'd be great to see some more visually appealing AdSense optimized templates available.

If you can get your sites ranked and up in the google searches and keep adding content daily, you should start earning pretty quickly (within 30 days or so). How much you make is up to your methods and quality of content. Old content keeps getting searched on and brings money for months to come so don't skimp on it. Get as much QUALITY content up as you can as soon as you can.
