Just as the title says, how long should you warm up a Reddit account?

And how do you properly warm it up?

Depends on what you want from an account , such as to use it normal or want to use it for promotion in future

Why do you need this? I am also interested in this topic. I also want to create my own NSFW sub and somehow monetize it. I'm also looking for information. Let's chat

Day or two of light posting and scrolling subs should be enough for most basic stuff.

Accounts under 1 day old have several site wide restrictions, however after that its mostly based on surbeddit filters.

If you mean you gonna use the acc for posting NSFW content then use this strategy.
For the first few days, subscribe to a couple of subreddits and just watch others' posts.
In the next few days, leave a few comments, give likes to couple of others' posts, and again just scroll through subreddits and watch others' posts. You're supposed to do that cuz your farming cookies is cruical.
After a week, start posting, initially a little and without using upvoting panels, then gradually use such services if you like.

It depends on how many niches you're hitting

If you're targeting a narrow niche which has a limited number of subreddits, a month should be enough (I play it safe)

But if you plan to be more a RENAISSANCE MAN with your accounts, it will take longer

Always be on the look to reposting high quality stuff from one sub to another - just make sure no one posted it before or it's been a while since they posted it

You're basically piggybacking off the authority of the content you're sharing

More age and karma == more authority to do whatever you'd like to do. So, it depends on your use-case.

Why do all people have different answers? We are in a marketing place, if we ask to warm up account is because we want to use as promotion.

Most people who create an account don't even participate. So if you're gonna follow the "few days" advice, and immediately start promoting shit, you're already drawing attention to yourself as a very, very, very likely spam or bot. To me a minimum "warm up" is AT LEAST 2 months of normal posting, promoting absolutely nothing, not sharing anything NSFW. In order to create a really strong account i'd even go for the 6 month mark and around 2k karma. But hey, that's me. You do what you wanna do and get banned. Then create new accounts. For those who are gonna tell you it's not needed, ask them to show you what they're really doing with their accounts. Lets seem them create an account and after 2 days of "warm up" start promoting NSFW content with links to their own stuff, to see how long their accounts usually last and what's the results.

Being a spammer is like being a zombie just moving forward, getting shot until he catches some flesh. You may get lucky, but being a Ninja will take you way further and give you better results. Being a spammer is easy, but usually whatever is easy tends not to be great.
