Can any members share with me how long they have taken to get a website from scratch to having 50 visitors a day from the search engines?

I am new here and I have built like 600 backlinks including RSS, PR, forum signature, blog comments for a website but after 3 months of work. It has only about 5 visitors a day from the search engines.

Cheers

it only took me a month to get to about 100 visitors per day.And the cool thing is it was a health blog,so keyword CPC was pretty decent too.I used to do a lot of keyword research before writing an article.i think that made the job easy.

Sometimes it happens. Just take your 1 hour today to analyze your niche. Look at these: (assuming your niche is in English and your market is US)

1. What is the number of monthly exact visitors of your keyword?

--- Look at SKTOOl (Select English-United States)
--- Look at Old Adwords Keyword Tool (Select country as US, EXACT, and monthly Local Search)
--- Look at New Adwords Keyword Tool (Select country as US, EXACT, and monthly Local Search)
--- Look at Semrush results

Now you must see 4 different numbers of monthly search results of your keyword.

2. Did you analyze top 20 (or 10) in google?

--- Make these two searches in Google
*** Normal user search (broad) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=my+keyword&aq=f&aqi=g6g-m4&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
*** Allintitle search (for analysing competition) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=allintitle%3A%22my+keyword%22&btnG=Search&tbs=&lr=&as_filetype=&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
Look at top 10. If the sites are listed with their deep nested subpages (www.domain.com/subpage1/subpage111), then OK, but if you see their domains in the list rather than subpages (www.domain.com) then it is very hard to be on this list.

3. Last: Do you have your keyword in your domain name?

PS: Not to exaggerate something, but these are just the basics of keyword (niche) selection process for being successful. Do these three in accordance with the info give above, get some backlinks, rss, blog comment and never look back. (this is exaggeration, maybe once in a month). Some people write hundred pages of books and sell it for $567 (a discount after $98765) just to explain these three simple facts.

Well it took me about 3 months and I have done many articles and comments. The traffic can be built faster but after you have maintained it for some time. You well then get traffic faster.

It's also took me about a month to get the visitors. Don't get too hung up on the amount of visitors that you get. It's all about quality traffic that you can convert into sales. I have one site that gets may 700 visitors for the month and I make some money off of it.

Agree with edgematch. First it depends on keyword search volume. In general, It does not take more than 15-20 days to get 100+ visitors a day for most of my websites. and 400+ in 2 months of time.

However I have couple of website which are very specific and even after 2 months, I get only ~50-100 because the search volume itself is low

What kind of effort have you put in to get this amount of traffic? Do you use xrumer blast or do you build links the whitehat way?

Do you have a million competitors?

I have some sites that took like a year to get 50.

I have been trying to build an e-commerce site for about 2 years, using only white hat methods, and I am still not at 50/day, I am in a pretty competitive niche though. It is really making me take a look at some BH methods

Hi,

With regards to SEO, It really depends on the keyword you are targeting =) The higher the searches and the lesser competition the easier you will get traffic and rank for that keyword =)

It depends. With some website is a matter of weeks, others months.
Depens on the keyword you are running for..
