I have been building HQ links for my website and was wondering how long does it take for the DR on Ahrefs to update, I am using the free backlink checker they have

I think it doesn't take long. When I was building links to my site it was improving steadily. But UR increases much faster than DR because DR factors in all the links pointing to the site, in their calculations.

is there a free way to measure the UR? and what would be considered a good UR/DR for an adult website?

Usually, Ahrefs takes a maximum of one month for DR update, Because it needs to crawl whole backlinks.

If I built around 10 50DR+ links and keep on building other links with 20-30DR is there a possibility to reach 40DR in like 3 months? and will that affect my SEO?

I'm not sure there's a free way, maybe there are third-party sites that am not aware of.
Also, I personally think all third party metrics are absolutely useless for your own sites unless you're trying to sell links. There's no point having a DR 50 website that doesn't rank for anything viable. What matters is the quality of your links as well as other on page factors.
I've never done anything remotely adult related, so I can't speak for the niche.

Understood, but do you think a website can have a high DR and not rank on page 1 for some of the main keywords?

I can't able to say exactly reach 40DR without checking your site, If possible share your site, I will check and advise you.

Yes, happens many times. Those metrics can be manipulated.

What is the point of increasing DR? Are you using it to sell links? If yes then wait at least one month. Or if you are expecting a boost in SERP after increasing your site DR then it is no use.

Hello,
The complete database update - refreshing the info on the whole Internet backlinks takes about two months. Within this time, some pages will be updated 60 times, others only once, depending on their rating.

Hard to say

With DR the more points you move up the harder it is get the next point

20-30 is easier to achieve than 30-40

Also depends on other factors as well
Such as links per page, the actual DR of the page

Would it increase your rankings most likely yes but on few factors

The strength of competition

How much real quality the link is. For example it easy to fake DR. Build spammy links, etc. There is even a thread about increasing your score

But would it help ranking, no

If those are high-quality links, it can take at least one month. If your intention is to rank a site, you need to focus on other factors too.

According to Ahrefs, you need more like 85-90 high DR links to get up to DR 25-30. You need more like hundreds of high DR links to get to DR 40-50 or above.
