i edited my meta title and description yesterday and i resubmitted my site link to google webmasters tool, but 1 day is already passed but when i search site:mysite.com on google, the meta tags are still not updated.

how long do i need to wait for them to update? is it possible to make it update faster, and how?

I have seen it take as long as 22 days but usually it is faster than that. I good indicator is to check the date on the Google cache entry for the URL. If the page hasn't been re-cached then google won't know about the change yet.

Use submit URL in the google search console, this will notify the google to crawl on your site. Also try to ping the URL. Wait for a few days and check if it has updated.
