So, I had a pretty well ranked < 60000 technology blog, which was banned over a year ago. I also got hacked, which made matters worse. I simply stopped hosting it anywhere and now I wish to get back online.

My question is, how long does Google actually ban you if it is a Temp ban? I do not have a latest backup so, I gather I will be almost vanilla new. Will this help or do I start from the scratch?

    TIA!

If I were you I would just get a new domain and start from scratch with that. You can never sure you're really getting a fresh start otherwise.

Took me about 2.5 years to get a site unbanned (0 pages in serp for site:domain.com). It has been getting decent positions in SERPs since then, so it is likely that all other penalties had been lifted along with the ban.
