i know its dependent upon the niche, but generally, how long does google take to put your site in the serps for your keyword? (not indexing)

I'm trying to rank an article of mine too, created a few web 2.0 props with unique articles pointing to money site(article) and have been building backlinksto both money site as web 2.0 props... but Market Samurai says it's not ranked yet or not in top1000(it's marked as +). I've been building links for 2 days now...

Not to steal this thread or anything :p

I've had one fairly poorly built site take over a month and a couple of big ones that were on-site white-hat SEO'd to perfection that were fully crawled with all pages indexed in 2 days from upload. It's a bit random but having a site map and good site architecture probably helps

Yeah, honestly there is no real "average" time for indexing/showing up in the SERP's. I had a site rank number one for a low-comp keyword in 2 days with no backlinking and a site I'm working on now hasn't been indexed even though I've been backlinking for 4 days. Both about same keyword comp, so yeah a bit of randomness to it, I think.
