    Hey guys,
Just getting my feet wet in the world of IM.

Trying to find a niche to get on right now and think I found a metric that could be a good indicator of a niche. What you guys see below is the monthly search volume for a specific product I had a suspicion was trending.

Is this something worth acting on?
What other metrics do you guys suggest I should look at to see if making a website that tries to sell this product through CPA is worth it?

GKT does not show the difficulty of the keyword, the low competition there is for adword advertisers. You need to use something like semrush, longtail pro, keywordrevealer to know the competition of the keyword.

Cool I will drill down into this more by looking at google's top pages and will check out semrush, longtail pro, keywordrevealer and learn how to drill down into the properties that constitute intensity of competition.
Will search around more about what people may look at about assessing buyer intent.

Thanks for adding some of the other dimensions I need to inspect for my analysis.

Should the posts I make about my further inspections on finding a niche be posted here or in another thread?
Would of course love to ask you guys more questions after following through :]

After a bunch of reading and looking around,
found I could buy SEMRush on fiverr for 30 days! :D

Looks like I found a tool that will keep me occupied a while...

From the looks of it, it looks pretty decent.

This niche that you're investigating shows quite a bit of promise as far as increased customer demand goes.

This is definitely a good first step, but you're also saying that it currently has a low competition as far as appetizers go.

Keep in mind that if you are looking to target this niche using PPC, now is probably the time to do that.

If it is particularly lucrative in any way, chances are quite good that competition will increase.

As far as organic SEO goes, however, just because you have a low amount of advertisers paying to target that niche on a pay-per-click basis, this doesn't mean that you won't have that much competition as far as organic rankings go.

Still, to answer your question, you're definitely in a very nice position, but it's probably a good time to move on before it gets really competitive.
