How is it that some twitter accounts seem to be totally automated?

I know about some of the automation tools, but is that a good idea? Someone said you risk getting your account banned? I'm using socialooph on my account for my site mlmrc but it just does a few tweets a day. It doesn't really do anything else. Plus I have recharge it ever 3 months or so as I'm using their free service.

But what would be ideal is just automating the whole thing. Just have it growing on it's own, so you don't waste endless time on it. Because I think I've spent probably hundreds of hours so far. Just to make marginal progress.

Lots of ways to make that happen but not without a fair bit of prep work. In my experience, you need to have enough content to span over 5 days of your schedule, and better if it's a week. So if you want to post every half hour, you need 48 DIFFERENT tweets a day X5 at very least. twitter wont bother you over that, and you wont wear out or piss off your follower base enough to report you.

Maybe you can do it more often with fewer tweets, but that is a safe methodology, having done it for 2 years thus far. Even so, unless the content is of value, you arent going to get a lot of organic followers just because you put out a tweet. You still have to interact and post different content. Follow and unfollow, etc.

Also if you are using a tool like social jukebox as I am, ( or others that allow a timed tweet) I recommend setting it to 29min or 31min as opposed to 30m as it will have the effect of slow-dripping tweets at slightly different times to maximize your reach and having a wider hit rate. Plus it makes sense to aim for diverse and non-convergent follower groups; again, to widen reach

Take a look at IFTTT. You can make your own "if this than that" recipes/applets. You can automate the content posting of a whole army of social media accounts for free even on their own or by linking them together, e.g. when something gets posted to Twitter (someone makes a tweet, you or anyone else), it gets posted to Tumblr, Reddit etc.

hey honeybird- I've done this too for a new follower welcome, but in less than a week i got a revalidate number stop on the account for automation. I am using it in conjunction with social juke, but never had a problem from that on its own. Have you ever gotten the same flagging from twitter? ( jsyk i never do actions simultaneously on the account save for this, am guessing that's the reason for the flag)

If you do repetitive actions, it's bound to happen, no matter what tool you use. Even if you don't, Twitter can ask you to re-verify the account. It's pretty normal and usually not an issue, if you have access to the phone number what you used to verify the account originally.

I assume you were sending the exact same welcoming DM to your new followers, which was the issue, not the tool itself. IFTTT unfortunately doesn't support spintax.

Pretty much- the error was a "appear to be automated-pls reverify". I really just need to employ a vps solution at some point i guess. Im not sure i really like anything out there from ive seen though.
