How important is Text to HTML Ratio in authority websites=

I'm making a website and have about 10-15 posts in homepage and an example of how it looks like would be http://www.gamespot.com/

However when using woorank it says I have only 5% text to html ratio and it says it's very low and should be at least above 15%, currently showing up 34 words in the excerpt of each post, how many words do you usually choose to show and why?

Not expert, but personally I don't think its much matter. After adding schema [microdata, recommende by google ], my website text/html ratio became low but it increased serp. I have seen so many pages - less text with big images or videos goes on the top search page. HTML5 , Wordpress or modern websites have more markup then before and doing great in the search.

But that does not mean , u should not try to add as much text(quality and important) as possible .
