    Will LSI outweigh good backlinks?

How relevant is LSI in the SERPs???

Do I even need to bother with this anymore?

My research shows LSI is very important (there's plenty of documentation on the net regarding this). I use KRA Pro to expedite the process of finding the keywords and phrases the search engines EXPECT to be included in my content. I do a lot of article marketing, so it's vital for my marketing strategy. It really depends on your business model. I can't say if LSI will outweigh good backlinks. Having both could not hurt in my opinion.

It's definitely a factor. Matt Cutts has talked about how Google looks for associated keywords using LSI. But as to how important it is, nobody really knows since Google is pretty secretive with their algo.

LSI is important now when it comes to ranking in the SERPs, and I believe that it will play an even bigger role as time goes on and Google keeps updating.

Google wants great user generated content, so if you put in your targeted keywords/keyphrases in your content and also focus on LSI, you will see better rankings.

I don't think LSI outweighs backlinks, but a great combination of both will make you a deadly force for your competitors to deal with.;)

LSI is a factor, but so is overall traffic sources (Goog buys anon data from ISPs to see what pages are getting quantitative traffic from email, social, news sites, etc). Bounce rates, CTR rates, page load speed, on page (measured by chrome, google bars, android, etc) are also factors.

So I wouldn't suggesting spending all your time on becoming the LSI whisperer. Yah, make themed groups of pages (i.e. tags and categories) but don't try to get all rocket scientist on it.

You are better off focusing on internal linking with your site to related pages. WP has plugins for this and they work a charm bringing crawlers to your pages like kids to an ice cream truck.

Good catch. Saw it on the new posts page and replied w/o checking OP date. blah! I wasted my breath on my reply. That's good though, I was worried LSI was making a hype comeback!
