How I use this free tool to track website rankings.

I use an app called SEO Edge to track my website’s position in certain keywords.

This is how I do it;

1) Download Seo Edge, the logo of the app is below.





2) Click side bar and “Add Profile”

This will allow you to add your website and you’re limited to only 2 websites in free version of the app. But you can always delete one website and check another to skip that limit.



3) Enter URL

It doesn’t matter if you include https://



4) Add keywords

You’re limited to 5 keywords maximum. You can just delete the keyword and add a new one to skip with the limit or just purchase pro version.



5) Keyword Rankings

You can see your website’s ranking and check other sites that are ranking for the same keyword.




Click on the keyword to check the rankings like shown in the picture below.




Free version is limited to adding certain amount of keywords and tracking certain amount of websites. However you can always delete the keyword and replace it and do the same with the website.

I personally bought the premium version because it was really cheap and it was a convenient tool to use on mobile.

You can track 5 keywords and 2 websites.

You can replace keywords if you don’t want to spend money on pro. Delete and add another keyword or delete and add another website.

They have a mac version, so I'll try it out.

Does this run locally or is it hosted in the cloud?

Surprised there isn't a free open source rank tracking script that's managed by the community for whenever Google updates their layout.

I wrote a script several years ago that would proxy in and pull the results, but Google kept changing their code making it difficult to keep up.

1. SEMrush – Best Rank Tracking Software. SEMrush is my favorite tool on this list as it is a complete solution for keyword checking. You can enter your website URL or the individual URL of a blog post, and it will show you which keywords you are currently ranking for.
