Hello, my name is Manuel, from Spain. For the last 6 months I haven't been very active in the forum because of my college exams and because I have a lot of stress, but I want to share with you the method that is making me 150$/month by doing anything.

On February 2013, I started programming android apps with a little piece of software that is called BASIC4ANDROID. This software makes the whole programming process so easy and makes the development fast which is so important when you don't know how to program in JAVA (android apps are made with java, which is not easy).

So my idea was, when everyone was talking about the HARLEM SHAKE i decided to make an app with that theme, It is Called HARLEM SHAKE SOUNDBOARD, and it is an easy app, that plays sounds when you click in different buttons. That app takes me like 2 hours of development, graphic design, place ads, and uploading to the Play Store.

You can check the app here:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gikdew.harlemshake&hl=es

In three months I had more than 42.500 downloads, and i get 2000 impressions every single fucking day, so I've been making 150$ every month.
So my idea, is start making apps, I can easily make 1 app a day, upload it to the Play.Store and try to get downloads, and clicks to my ads which is not difficult.

You can always add me on Skype, if you want to talk about something related.

    Manuel

If it is not a secret, how do you monetize the apps? I mean, which ad provider do you use?

I have always wanted to create apps, but I have never done so due to the long learning curve.
How long did it take you to learn creating applications using that software?

By the way, I just downloaded your application and it looks very simple. Since there are no pictures and animations, it shouldn't be hard at all to create such applications.

Also, since you use copyrighted material (song), can you even monetize such an app?

Imagine the money you could be making if you had at least 10 applications on Google Play store!

BASIC4ANDROID isn't for free (small costs). Is it better than PhoneGap?

I guess most of the android app are monetized using Leadbolt's ads
You can develop your own android app with no programming knowledge by using drag & drop technology
search MIT app inventor (previously Google App Inventor)
It is free and really easy to learn with the step by step tutorials given for developing sample apps (quite a few of them)

10 apps on the Google Play Store would be awesome, but the problem is that I didn't have time this year because of the college.
The song is copyrighted but it is a remix, and remixes can be used (Thats what I think, nobody has reported me).
It take me like about a week to learn how to use the software and start making my own apps, they have a nice guide with examples and stuff and If you follow it you'll be able to start doing apps in a week or so (They have an active forum that can solve your doubts and help you a lot).

I use ADMOB as an Ad provider, it is like adsense for mobile apps. Admob was bought by Google in 2011, so it is safe.
    I us

I have been trying and working with phonegap for a long time, and I have to tell you that it is so easy to use (short learning curve), but the apps are awful, they don't work properly, a lot of lag and bugs. I reccomend going with JAVA or basic4Android like me, if you don't want to learn JAVA.

I started with the free version of BASIC4ANDROID, but when I started getting downloads I decided to buy their software so I can use all the features that it has. As I said before, is not so difficult to learn, you have a users guide, and after reading it, you can make any app you want. (You have to know the basics about programming in some language, that will make things easier)

I think it is easier with basic4android, I have tried with App Inventor but it is not updated monthly and you dont have control about everything.

It is not easy as you make it out to be. The play store is crowded with apps most of them really half assed. If you want your apps to perform you have to go native. You have to choose the niche and than drive downloads. Without downloads it is not worth anything.

I'd imagine this is like Kindle. You put in some work in the beginning, and then the rest is just hands off other than a little maintenance here, and there.
