Last night, around 8:30PM CTD I've received a call from my buddy and he asked me if I was watching the MTV movie awards. Well I wasn't since I went outside for a 3 mile run and was doing some sprints and pushups. Anyway, he told me about Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen - Borat) landing on Eminem's face. Well I immediately thought about monetizing this and went to YouTube to try to find a video. Well, I found one right off the bat. Of course it has been recorded with a digital camera but the quality was good enough though.

So I went to TubeGrip.com and saved the video on my computer, renamed it and within a couple of minutes I had the video up. I also put up a little annotation that said - Free Ringtones at www.example.com. A minute or two later my video was processed and 4 or 5 minutes later it was already removed due to Viacom copyright issues. Well I logged in to my CPA account and I already had over 300 hits to my affiliate link and 3 conversions at $13 a piece. So I knew there was something to it. Then I did it again and my video was taken down after a couple of minutes again but I made a couple of more conversions.

So after that I had a 3 minute brainstorming session and had to quickly come up with a way of keeping my video up there for a longer time. So basically what I decided to do is put a big annotation across the whole screen so the video can still be viewed but not as well as normally. That allowed my video to survive online for 18 hours before my account was temporarily banned. Anyway I took a screen shot of my video after it was taken down, inside the annotations interface. If you look at the screen shot if you will see what I'm talking about.

By the way, I've received over 14,000 hits to my website and had 185 conversions at $13. So if you do the math that is $2,405.00 at around 1.3% conversion rate which is pretty good for YouTube traffic. If you have any questions please post it on here.

Also, if you follow the news (or in my case your buddy does :) ) you will realize that there are constant celebrity related news that you can monetize in this or a similar way. Btw, the Google news are wonderful for this kind of stuff.;)

Thanks for that tip! I will be trying something like that.

Did you use GODCpa or was it all legit? Thanks!

Edit-how many views did your video get? I have an eminem video that consistently gets 8k hits a day, maybe I could get some leads from that...

That's smart. Making the cashflow from exploiting the popularity of the media.

No I didn't iframe the offer since I didn't have enough time to do it. Nevertheless, that would probably have doubled my conversion rate. It was just a ringtone offer, but they thought they would get free ringotones, plus the video and the back stage fight.

The last time I checked it had around 160,000 views but my video was taken down an hour or so ago and I do not know when was the last time the stats have updated so I am not sure what the real number was.

Why does youtube take down videos like this? What is their reasoning behind it?

This wasn't necessary since youtube annotation outside links aren't clickable, and therefore it is type in traffic(blank referrer).

How did you add the annotation?? Also did you just upload the video back to youtube???

Couldn't you have also put it on some other video sharing sites??

There is an annotation option after you add your video. I didn't upload it back to YouTube but I am sure there is still some money out there to be made with this video.

I could have put it on other video sites but didn't bother. I make enough money from my other projects and businesses so this was just a little experiment.

Sorry about that. Big companies complain and then YouTube takes it down due to copyright issues. Usually right after your video was flagged.

I am confused  So you did not upload it back nor did you put it on any video sites..... So where did u put the video? How did people see it? How did you get them to click it and go to your offer?

Sorry if these questions seem dumb but I just don't get it.

OK, this is what happened. I uploaded it once and it was taken down after a couple of minutes, then I reuploaded it and it was taken down again and then I reuploaded it again and put the annotation across the whole video. Then 18 hours later it was taken down again and my account was permanently disabled from posting videos. Then I logged in and went to my videos and took a screen shot through the annotation interface since there was the only way to do so since my video was already removed. I guess I misunderstood you. I thought you asked if I reuploaded it again after the video with the big annotation was removed. Hope it makes sense now.

Thanks man.... So if I understand you correctly, you did upload your renamed video back to youtube and they pulled it and you just kept on doing it until they suspended your acct.

I think i got it.. Really a cool method man and I will PM when I have one that is successful.
