Some of you may have seen the trend on facebook for putting celebs who look like you on your profile pic.

Well i managed to make some decent money with this, heres what i did.

i heard people mentioning the phrase "doppelganger" and i didnt have a clue what it was, so i googled it and noticed no ads and thought other people must be searching to.

So i found a toolbar paying $2.50 per install which had a celeb lookylike feature.
Made a quick landing page with the offer and went to adwords to write some ads.
use keywords to do with facebook week, lookalike week etc...

i was paying between .05 -.10 a click on adwords and getting literary thousands of clicks over a few days, check out insights

    http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=doppelganger&date=today 7-d&cmpt=q

i had a conversion rate of like 30% on my toolbar download and as i was the only as for most of the week i was getting a very good ctr on google.

Keep an eye on the trends guys and whats getting searches, just because theres no ads up doesnt mean theres no money in it, think outside the box.

    Fucking genius!
How much did you end up earning? Which network did you use? I've never seen a celebrity look alike toolbar offer

ended up making about $5k profit from it.

took a day or 2 to fine tune everything so next time anything similar happens on facebook etc.. il be much more ready.

it was one of those zwinky things thats ok quite a few networks, did some editing of the graphics on it to "sell" it abit more, the offer has gone now i think as it must be pretty low converting at their end

Congratulations, that's some pretty ingenious thought and at a level far above most of what's posted here these days.

    Rep added.

EDIT: Not only that, you actually took action and DID it. So many things right with this post :D
