What's up guys. Just wanted to tell everyone about my success (kind-of) thanks to BHW!

I can't remember who posted the method here, but I found it a while ago and implemented it.

    Here's the method:

    1. Sign up for an Amazon Seller Account
    2. Sign up for an E-Bay Buyer Account
    3. Find items on E-Bay and cross-reference prices with the same items on Amazon. Record items that are cheaper on ebay than Amazon.
    4. List the cheaper items on your Amazon store, and when someone buys from you, buy from the seller on ebay and ship directly to the customer.

This method takes a little time in finding products that can make you a good profit since Amazon takes up to 15% commission for themselves. When doing this method myself, I found a power seller from China that sold refurbished cell phones that were way cheaper than any on Amazon. I e-mailed them and eventually stopped going through E-Bay all together and they gave me an even cheaper price per phone.

Orders started rolling in... at first it was 2-3 orders a day, then all the sudden I was getting one or two per hour. I hit a goldmine! And started to just buy the phones on credit (since I was getting the money back almost immediately, right?)

Everything was going great until the time came for amazon to pay me. They didn't. Then customers started returning the phones since they weren't working properly. It wasn't really that many... maybe 20% or so. However, if you have a returned product or any claim against you at all, Amazon can hold your funds for a month.

I decided to just stop selling the phones and wait it out to get paid (since the juice was running on my credit card). I had a little over $7,000 in sales waiting to be released... wondering if I'd ever actually get it.

In the end, it took about 6 months to get my funds. I still made a small profit, but after the credit card charges it wasn't much.

Moral of the story: find quality products and start out slow! Don't over extend yourself like I did. However, it is very possible to make good money this way.

I will probably start using this method again. I learned a lot the first time and it's easy. After you setup your Amazon account, the only work you have to do is find products that you can profit from. Downside is you do need a little cash to start it up and dealing with Amazon's bs can be a pain.

If anyone has questions about the method feel free to ask! Also, since I know some of you might not be able to do this method since you need to have a credit card, bank account, etc. I will give you an opportunity to make some $$ if you'd like to do product research for me. PM me if you're interested.

Did you sell more than one product type? And from someone else than a Chinese?

I was actually looking at this 2 nights ago but cross referencing products from Amazon to eBay so I could have the product auctioned higher on eBay than Amazon... even a couple bucks makes the difference per product.

Yes, I sold anything I could find that wasn't being sold cheaper on Amazon.

I made sales in Jewelry, general electronics, and accessories like phone covers, cables, etc. But the phones were the big sellers and probably 80% of all sales.

I used several sellers other than the chinese one, especially when I was starting out. But the phones were selling so well I decided to stick with them and build a business relationship to get better prices and settle disputes easier.

I thought of this as well, but it seemed more difficult since ebay isn't as strict when it comes to approving sellers and products, which generally means lower prices (and quality).

Sounds like it was 7K gross sales or was that net after expenses and fees?

Gross, but after fees. When a sale is made, Amazon automatically takes out the fee from your sales figure.

The net was a little over $3,000. I didn't post an item unless I was getting at least a 50% profit margin.

Sounds pretty nice actually but I'm a little confused. If you list the cheaper item on Amazon and you buy the more expensive item from Ebay when the customer buys your item on Amazon, wouldn't you have to come out of pocket? Am I misunderstanding something?

You are finding items cheaper on E-Bay. For instance, you find a cell phone selling for $200 on Amazon and $120 on E-bay. You list the phone on your Amazon account for $199 (or however much you want to undercut them) and when someone buys from your Amazon account just order the phone that's on e-bay and have the e-bay seller send to the person who bought from you.

Profit ~$80 not including fees. And no work besides finding the product.

Gotcha. This seem like this would be a nice way to work. Even on expensive things I'd imagine.

Yeah. Even if it is against the rules, there is no way Amazon would know where you are getting your products from.

If you're going to try this method, just make sure you find a quality supplier (Power Seller) and see if they are willing to sell to you outside of e-bay. That way they can avoid e-bay fees and sell to you cheaper so you make more profit.

Also, make sure that on your Amazon account you tell customers to contact you first before leaving negative feedback or submitting a claim if they have a problem with the product because Amazon takes seller reputation very seriously. If you get suspended, they will NOT unban you and they will blacklist any address or credit card/banking information you use to prevent you from making another account.

I agree. In our kind of business, I believe the best way to make a lot of money is to give yourself the opportunity to be lucky. :)

Clever little work around you had there. Though it sucks that you were cut short and yer credit fees ate up all yer profit.

    Still, thanks fer the share.
