WHERE AND HOW TO FIND ITEMS: We will be using aliexpress as our source of items. Get an account on aliexpress and start browsing. Once you have decided the niche and your website is all set, the next thing is to find an item which may be a possible winner. For the sake of this guide let?s use the Pet niche. You know you want to sell items in pet niche. Aliexpress?s search module is pretty handy and gives you great suggestions. I typed in ?dog? and it came up with some nice suggestions for products. Let?s select the one with most results. Now you have some nice products that can be sold. I prefer top rated sellers. Make sure you select the country you want to ship to. I find popular products by sorting them by number of orders. As you can see, all 3 products seem appealing. They have low cost and can produce great ROI. What's a good product: - Is lightweight and small in size. - Costs anywhere between $1 to $15. - You have repeat buyers. - Product has a good profit margin. What's a bad product: - Is heavy/big and attracts shipping cost. - Already being sold in your local store like walmart. - A product that customs won't approve. - Counterfeit/Trademarked items (Sell these and you will get sued). CONTACTING SELLERS: Most of the sellers know and can communicate with you in English. I have used this swipe for contacting sellers and it works great. You can modify it as per your need. I have asked not to include invoice as it will be all Chinese and no use to the end buyer anyway. Also, we do not want to transact outside of Aliexpress even if the seller is trusted. You don?t have buyer protection over such transactions. Now that you have confirmation, it?s time to place some orders. Contact the seller again after placing few orders and ask him to ship them as soon as possible. Also, mention that you will be placing orders every day. Building relationship: Once you are getting sales and placing orders daily, you can ask the seller to suggest you items to sell. You can also ask if they can procure new items for you. I have had sellers get me items for much cheaper than other stores. Many sellers will be even willing to add you on WhatsApp for instant communication. Building a relationship is easy as you will be dealing with one person only from a particular store. Negotiating: You don?t need to buy items at the mentioned listing price. Sure, no one will reduce the price when you are new but as you become familiar with the store manager, you can ask for better pricing and you can reason with him as you are placing a good amount of orders daily and are now a regular customer of his. This hugely depends on your relationship with store manager. MANAGING ORDERS: As you scale up managing orders becomes difficult. You need to keep track of orders which are not yet shipped, if shipped what?s the status and how many of them were delivered. Customers will want to know the status of their order. They will mail you, message on facebook or comment directly within the posts. Now to know the exact status of the order you need to login to aliexpress orders page and see if the item is shipped or not. In case, the item is shipped it will have a tracking number attached. Take that tracking number and paste in http://www.17track.net/en/ This website supports all major tracking couriers of China and International couriers too. Here is how the tracking looks: PRO TIP: Aliexpress generates an order id each time you place an order. When you place an order, make an excel sheet mapping this order id with your woocommerce order number. This makes it much easier to find a customer?s order status. It?s a nightmare to go through all the orders and find the one you are looking for. I learned it the hard way. CUSTOMER SUPPORT: This is the single most important factor that will make you from hero to zero. Let me tell you a personal experience. I once had a customer who did not receive his item for 25 days due to courier issues. I agreed for a complete refund, but he wanted the item. He went on accusing me of a scammer and I had at least 5 emails from him daily. He took it to facebook and commented on my ad post that this is all fake and the company is a scam. Other people upvoted his comment which moved him to the top. Conversions from that particular ad copy went downhill and I had to finally disable that ad. The damage was done. 2 days later he received his item and apologized but the customer is always right, right? Keeping the customer in loop: I have already discussed this in PART 1, but it?s important for the customer to know where is his order. Send him updates via email. Prompt answers: If a customer asks any questions, answer him promptly. Do not delay. I know some customers have questions that are pretty basic, but you need to answer him no matter what. This is part of the business. Paypal disputes: Every now and then, there will be a paypal dispute. The reason being the customer did not receive his order. No need to panic, you can easily resolve the dispute by providing item?s tracking number and assuring the customer that order will be delivered soon. I had a dispute case where a customer claimed he did not receive the item. I checked the details and according to the tracking number, the shipment was delivered successfully. Paypal stepped up refunded both of us on this particular case. PAYMENTS: You need to make payments on aliexpress via your card. Once you make one payment, your card details are saved and you are automatically signed up for alipay. Alipay makes it easier to make payments by simply entering a pin. Card blocked issue: This was asked in my other thread. Thought I will make it available here as well. As you scale up and place more orders daily on aliexpress, it?s highly likely that your card may get blocked due to daily transaction limit or fraud protection. There's a simple workaround to this problem. You do not need to complete the payment for every single order. After the address is entered, click on continue and you will be taken to the payment page. Close the window and go back to my orders page. You will see you have a pending payment. Don't worry, we will be paying the pending amount in bulk. Say you have 50 orders pending - Place all 50 orders without paying. Now go to Awaiting payments tab. Here you can multi-select orders and make payment at once. I believe you can make payment for 10 orders at one go, do for 50 orders you will swipe your card for 5 times only instead 50 times. That?s all folks.
