Hey all just wanted to share with you how i was able to restore some 1st page positions i lost due to the 'zoo' changes.

I have 2 sites where i had the main keywords ofd the radar completely, here is what i did to get my rankings back:

I STOPPED doing the following:

Private blog networks.

Meaningless comment links in irrelevant blogs & forums.

Building a lot of anchor-text rich links around key terms using spun article marketing.

Web directories (with the exclusion of Yahoo & DMOZ).

Content that doesn't serve your users and adds no value what so ever. (you know what I mean)

I STARTED doing the following:

Better onsite optimization & internal links.

Attention to key behavior metrics in Analytics: bounce rate, time on page and average page views per visit.

Create awesome content for your target audience and market it smartly by targeting social influencers in your niche.

Infographics.

Include videos on your key pages.

Guest posting on relevant blogs (hint: myblogguest.com).

Establish relationship with successful bloggers in your niche.

Quality press releases.

Content curation.

Google+ and rel author.

Anchor text diversification with emphasize on brand.

It may sound all too familiar but this truly helped me get my ranks back up!!

Hope you find this useful, if you do I would appreciate a THANKS and Rep.

Stay strong and keep pumping away!!!

It'll maybe help certain people but right now different things work for different people. In a low comp niche that'll be a enough. In med-high comp niches it's going to make little if any difference. Not taking anything away from your results but in high comp niches watering down your anchor too much can have an adverse effect.
Judging by what you've done you were hit by panda and not touched by penguin so whilst adding good content is good it is not what brought you back.

Thnx for the input.

Actually I has drops after penguin and not after panda on some of the keywords.

Keywords were medium-high.
