So I just got back from spring break in Cabo, and I wanted to give you guys some good stuff that you can actually use for your online business. Today, we're going to talk about how I get about 90% of my wholesale leads to get products to sell for my eBay, Amazon, and Online Stores; this isn't exhaustive, just some ones that I have off the top of my mind.

So you have an item in mind? Well here's some places that you can start searching:

The first place is some wholesale websites. Most people already know about these, like Alibaba, Aliexpress, and Dhgate. Dhgate and Aliexpress don't show you certain items until you've reached "bronze" or "silver" status, so what you see on the site without logging in often times isn't what's actually available. If you don't have an established account on there, message up the sellers directly to see if they have certain items you're looking for. The issue with Aliexpress and Dhgate is that sometimes they block certain branded items on the site so it's very difficult to find certain items.

Alibaba is much easier to find items on, but the issue is that there are some people that are scammers on the website. The way to get around this is to either pay with PayPal + credit card, or credit card so that you have layers of security. Most branded items can be found on Alibaba, and the beauty of the marketplace is that you can negotiate with the sellers. Again, don't buy large truckloads of items; test with small samples first before you go crazy.

A third place that you should look is Google. So usually the keywords that I search for is the "[brand name] wholesale" or "[brand name] wholesale china", and then I usually go down to the 4th or 5th pages of search results to look for independent websites that are wholesaling. Usually, the chinese sites aren't bad as long as the quality is good.

If these three don't work, and you still want to source items, go onto eBay and search for other sellers selling that item. Obviously, they already have a way to source the items, so that's very good. Now just convince them to wholesale to you for a marked up price. Usually the sellers from Hong Kong and China are more open to this idea. You can use this to get a source to sell on Amazon so that you aren't direct competitors.

Lastly, a lot of people overlook Craigslist. Go ahead and search if there's the items that you're looking for on Craigslist; I actually found my first cologne and perfume wholesaler on Craigslist as he was local. You don't need to just search local though; you can go nationally and search for wholesale leads for your product.

Hope you're having a good Wednesday (and hopefully this helps you!)

    Yours profitably,
    Tim Shi

alibaba now offers escrow so the sender doesn't get paid until you get your item and you are happy..
if you really wanna make it, take a trip to the far east at least once a year. cut out the middle men

No need to worry about scammers and waiting forever for your products that may never come. Ebay and Amazon powersellers, new sellers. Be ready to make a whole lot of money. This is a game changer. great info..... but to extend on the Escrow...... escrow does not work, if you do not receive your item and file a dispute a seller can challenge the dispute. Once challenged it can take 90 days for a result (which more than likely goes in the sellers favor),not including the 60 days they give the seller to ship the item.... Best bet is find a supplier who accepts paypal... Ive so learned my lesson from the so so many times Ive lost $$$$$

Honestly, by keeping things simple it helps with everything! Start locally, then nationally, then internationally.
