Considering how popular the site has become, a 1 year and a half is virtually nothing.

So, this is the site I'm talking about:

    letmewatchthis.com

The site gets close to a million unique visitors a month.

Obviously no one knows exactly what they're doing, but generally speaking, what do you think they've done?

Not always a good idea to out a site. What if belonged to someone here? I am not sure but read up the rules just to be safe....

I was going to mention that in my original post. No offense though, this is one of the most viewed movie/tv show websites.

Then again, if I see others agree with you, I will definitely remove the URL.

Thanks for letting me know btw.

If its really doing that well and continues to grow at its rate, it may not be going a whole lot longer. I'm sure they'll make plenty by that time comes but I hope the dude who runs it has covered his tracks. I'd be nervous to have a movie site doing that well.

I'd guess it has something to do with them having over 300k backinks though. My guess is they xrumer blasted it like crazy.

LOL why is this person so worried about another sites success focus on your site and maybe you can get a million visitors a month BTW its a site that shows movies those numbers should be expected after going to it it reminds of OVGUIDE because most of the movies link to other sites and that domain should fly under the RADAR any hoo what the heck do I know im a damn NUBI....bahahhahahaa

As far as I know it isn't a problem for discussing an actual website. The only rules I've seen posted pertain more to things like FB pages, but it's also not good to out peoples CL ads, YT videos, or anything in which attention might get the page taken down by the provider. Discussing actual websites can be a good way to learn more about the best things to do. Unless there doing illegal stuff then not much chance of them getting taken down because of discussions here.

@OP, it doesn't look like they have a huge amount of backlinks. Nothing you would expect from a site getting that much traffic anyway. It's been consistently getting more traffic each month, but it's actually down a little from last month.

My guess is that they aren't getting the bulk of their traffic from the SEs, but probably did a lot of actual promotion. Probably a lot of things like YT, FB, and maybe even CL. I didn't look but they might have got themselves popular on digg and some of the other bookmarking sites.

That just goes to show that SEO isn't everything. Actual old school site promotion is what you need to get viral type of growth for a website. Plus a catchy name doesn't hurt, and a decent structured site is good too. Those two things are what will get real visitors to pass your website to their friends.

It looks to be one of those sites that just indexes links to other sites that host the videos, hard to say whether their far enough on the right side of the line to not get nailed like some of the other big movie and tv sites.

It is a good example of someone doing something right to get traffic though. I wish I could get that kind of traffic. Someday though..... lol.

edit - I didn't see it had over 300k backlinks. I only checked a couple places and they showed just a few thousand, but also showed a couple thousand refering sites. Yeah if he has 300k backlinks, thats gonna help too. LOL

Lol, the site is goddamn huge and popular. And do you seriously think ''da internetpolice'' browses around on blackhatworld looking for sites to take down?

No actually you were right, there was a thread about that.

The biggest complaint was over outing FB pages and I think it was the main reason that a rule was made . It's so easy for them to get taken down it's best not to post things like that. If you post a FB page then I'm sure the mods are definately taking care of those threads.

I think for talking about actual websites its a little more vague and kind of depends on the particular site. If you want to ask how PlentyOfFish or other very popular site is doing something it probably isn't a big deal. If your discussing a website that's probably run by some bhw member then you need to be more cautious. Probably just depends on the site how big a deal the mods will think it is. I'm sure if it was a BHWer site then the mods would edit out the link if requested.

I use this site whenever I feel like watching a movie online.

Their actions to avoid being shut down by the government were perfect, they purchased 200 domains as well as off shore hosting, each domain is fully supported and you are able to access all aspects of the site from any one.
