Is it hard to rank for long tail keywords? For example i want to make a site about recovering deleted facebook messages (just example, i know this is way too populated), and the keyword i want to rank for is "How To Recover Deleted Facebook Messages", how hard is it? And how should i do it?

isn't the entire purpose of long tail keywords is to use them because they are not competitive?

Longtail keywords are generally easier to rank, but if you just take longtail by definition like keywords having 4 to 5 words, then it may not necessarily be easy to rank, but you need to check the competition individually for different keywords and then take a call.

Also, instead of just creating a website for a single keyword or 2 to 3 keywords, create a mini authority site on the niche and you would be able to rank it much more easier.

I personally have even ranked for plenty of longtails with little backlinks with a huge authority site. So, yes it can be done but by default you cannot expect that keywords having 4 to 5 words or greater can be termed as easy to rank. You need to do to a competition check.

It's not hard to run keyword like "How To Recover Deleted Facebook Messages" but for sure how hard is it ? You need to use "Long tail pro" to check exactly how hard your KC ? and you also you google keyword planner to find more long tail keyword.

It's not always necessary that Long-tail keywords are less competitive. For example, if you decide to go in the health industry and pick up a Long-tail keyword, chances are it'll be filled with high-authority bazooka sites, because it's dominated by big brands. In order to check the competition of a keyword, take a casual look on the sites that are ranking on the first page and it'll give you a good idea.

Additionally, you can analyze the competition by using 3rd party tools such as Ahrefs, Majestic, Moz etc. How do you rank it? Invest in a PBN, bro.

With google auto-complete people only search for the long tails they suggest.

Long tail keywords in general don't have much traffic. What you should be focusing on is ranking for broad terms and getting traffic via plethora of long tails.

depends on the competition and how you word the longtail term.

As an example I thought about a question people were asking in relation to using the plenty of fish site, but worded it as you would speak it into Google verbally, and that single piece of content brings me 100+ visitors a day.

So think outside the box a bit with your longtail terms and you can rank well without links.

You can do a little forward thinking like this "How To Recover Deleted Facebook Messages 2016" so you would way ahead of your competitor.

Regardless of how many words your keywords are made up of, you will have to check your competition and how many others are trying to rank for the same.

Longtails that have no search volumes and no competition are pretty easy to rank for.

It depends. Some long tails are very profitable and thus quite hard to rank for. Here's an example: "how many calories to eat a day to lose weight".

Have you looked up its competition in Long Tail Pro?

How To Recover Deleted Facebook Messages 35 KW competitiveness with 3600 local searches

I found 4 more good Keywords, all together they are worth about 7500 local searches a month and all have under 40 for KW competitiveness.

I don't know what the hell deleted facebook messages are but you should be able to rank for these keywords. I would pursue them if I had an interest in that niche.

(I don't know how many KW LTP likes me giving away so I stuck with just the one.)

yes, it's very easy. sometimes it's ranked without any backlinks.

Too hard, I focus on 1 word keywords like "forex" or "payday".
