I have a client who wants SEO on his site. I thought it would be easy since his main competitor's site is about 80% flash

After I got his homepage to 92% (A) in SenSEO , Big G slid it to PR1 from 2, while the competitor's site went up to PR3, also from 2, with a SenSEO score of only 45% (F). There's no keywords in their domain name, no text or images with alt tags in their <body> at all, just javascript and links to flash objects. They have 3 domains linking in according to Alexa, with ranks of 162k, 3mil and 12mil. They somehow manage to get on the first page, even first place for most of the keywords in the niche.

So I was wondering why the hell it's doing so well. Is this another case of someone at Google drinking heavily or should I try reporting them for cloaking?

Maybe the site is very old so Google trusts it.

Moreover there are some 'borderline' ways to increase a flash website SEO, like the alternative flash.
Disable your flash/javascript (or take your iphone) and go to the website.

If not, there are some ways to check if there is some cloaking thanks to the google webmaster tools.

Cloaking is the fact to display 2 versions of one website: 1 version SEO optimized that will be displayed only to the search engines, and the other version (the 'normal' one) to the visitors.
