The EMDs that are listed in google local still seem to be ranking...at least the ones I have checked. Google Local is the way Google is insulating brick and mortar EMD business sites from other sites.. Makes perfect sense. They are all address verified by post card. They have probably been waiting until they felt they had a high enough percentage of businesses listed then made the change to their equation. I am curious if others have seen the same thing with EMDs still ranking.

That's actually make sense. Maybe one should start listing local sites to publix mailboxes.

Makes sense, but a friend of mine owns an auto shop with the name format as LASTNAME Auto. It's listed in local but dropped off the face of the Earth for its main keywords. Could be panda related, but all content is unique and helpful to his customers. At least in his case his garage was not spared.

Interesting only 3 pages and a site map in the index.

A Prime Example of Google screwing things up.

Stomachspasms.net has no ads on it. Its not monetized at all. Probably a factor.

This is a high quality site for linkbaits. Awesome user experience and content people would naturally link to.

Google isn't protecting any EMD's. They are just not getting affected because I'm sure they have a great backlinking strategy, good on page SEO and are authority sites.
Every website is an EMD of SOMETHING, so there's no such thing as EMD's.

I'd say its a huge factor. Google wants to eradicate websites from the serps that compete with Google products for the holiday season. If that site put an amazon link on it, or one to another etailer, the site would probably tank.

Actually the site has Google Adsense on it but its blanked out. Looks like they were banned maybe and that's why the ads aren't showing.

Today 2 of my EMDs got hit, of course the ones with highest earnings,
I have 2 EMDs ranking for the same keywords the one with adsense has gone down 2 pages in SERPS, the one with no ads has gone up 3 pages
My other hit EMD has droped slightly from 1# to 9# has enyone else had small drop in SERPS?
