Is Sick submitter a viable option for link building in 2014? I am planning on using it for light submissions to up to 3 sites a day (directories, social bookmarking sites) with scheduling. Can I get penalized by Google for doing that? Thank you and I hope this thread helps others too.

I haven't heard about sick submitter for almost a year. Is the developer still updating that software? Algorithmic/Manual penalties apply for spammy link profiles so pick only quality bookmarking sites/directories and drip feed the submission. Stay away for elgg/phpld kinda sites though. From what I remember, most of those sick packets have only spammy sites that are left open w/o any moderation.

It's all about how you use it. There's nothing wrong with elgg/phpld platforms. Remember, natural and quality will win the race. Don't spam, vary your anchor text and you should be good to go :)
