I understand that increasing clout can help get better offers at least to a point so I'm wondering how fast I can start driving traffic and in what volume to stay under their radar...also I'm guessing like blog spam, etc would not be a good way as they would check this? Also, any info on how much traffic is needed to increase clout would be helpful too, thanks

Use Twitter and other social bookmarking sites. If you don't have accounts, set them up and get some friends. :D

The long way is to turn on your DNS. Randomly hit articles where the writer has in the last 24 hours left comments. Many of the writers will give reciprocal comments. This also helps you blend into the AC community as a normal joe writing for them.

Write with strong keywords so you get indexed higher in Google. The majority of your traffic should come from Google and NOT the AC users. You'll stagnate on pv's if it's just AC viewers.

LONG method is to post up ppv only items that are controversial and will drive fast traffic.

AC will big time ban if you use artificial traffic. Don't even begin to consider that route.

Hope this helps. I'm sure others here know better how to do this than I do. This will at least get you started.:o

Thanks, yeah I know not to use artificial traffic, just not sure about bh methods like blog comment spamming and things like that

As far as how fast, have at it. The more legitimate traffic you send the better, even if it's a new account.

What you're aiming for is a page view average of 1000 views per piece (this is what AC would like to see) but of course it takes time to build into that, which AC understands. So as an example, if you have 30 articles submitted to an account you'll want to keep your page view average as close to 30K as possible.

I've worked out a system to where I submit a certain number of articles to an account and then I won't submit for upfronts for a certain period. While I'm not submitting for upfronts, I'm promoting the hell out of what's already been published to that account.

My main method for drawing views is using multiple Twitter and Facebook accounts. I go into more detail about it in the "made $30 on two articles today" thread. I personally don't use blog commenting because it's a slower way to get mass views.

thanks, I'm working on setting up accts now so will start with promoting

Where do you look on your published list tab to see how many pv's an article actually got? All I'm catching is the current month's pv's. I know it has to be somewhere with the total pvs for the life of the article. Like if I had one submitted in April, 2009 -- I'd like to know how it's done.

I'm missing it somewhere. LOL

Thanks for helping a doofus out on this... or tech flunkie i should say:confused:

madblacker, create or upload some videos based on your article to Youtube and Traffic comes automatically :)
