Just a fun thread to see typing speeds. This is an internet marketing forum where most of you probably spend at least a good portion of your day on the computer typing.

I've been clocked at 110 words per minute

You can test it here: http://www.typingtest.com/

Once you start typing for long enough most of the sequences of the words just get engraved in your head so it's not so much looking for the keys rather than just typing the word.

I don't know if that makes sense, but it's hard to explain. You memorize the words, not the letters on the keyboard. And I'm sure when I was back in grade school AIM had a large effect on my typing speeds :D

62 :) That is faster than I thought.
I find it much easier to type on a mac keyboad than a regular chunky PC keyboard

I can do 60, but in that case I have to really focus.

Crap I need to learn how to touch type lol, only 44 wpm according to the test. Although if I was free-writing about a random thought or topic in my head I could probably do twice as fast...

I bet if people wanted to have a serious rant about something on here their typing speed would skyrocket... For me I notice if I have a thought or something i have to rant about I can type non-stop for about 500 words with a typing speed of about 80wpm. Looking at another typed piece and retyping that (as in the test) produces an entirely different result. But by the time I graduate I hope I have learned touch typing as most employers in the web design/development industry probably want people with fast typing speeds.
