I'm back contributing on the ahrefs blog. I've always shared my previous ahrefs contributions here, ahrefs originally reached out to me due my shares on bhw last year. So for any of you interested..

It's no secret that links are the most important piece of the SEO puzzle.
Some people, like myself, will openly admit it. Yes, links matter. They matter a lot, actually.
Some SEO gurus rave about creating awesome content, but why are they creating that content? It's to get backlinks!
Don't let them fool you. You can write content until you are blue in the face, but if it isn't getting read, shared and mentioned (linked to), it's not going to produce the results that you might have expected.
    Links. You need links.

Just read the article. It was a Facebook ad by Ahrefs and it was a really great and informational article just like all your other articles and threads.

Keep it up Tommy. No wonder why most of us look up to you.

Step-by-step solid link building info for even the most experienced blackhatters, all in a short well-written guide. It's worth following an outside link to read it.

That was a great read. Got some handy tips which I will apply to one of my poor performing sites. I think I'll look for some of your other articles too. Thanks!

Great post, especially the keyword research method. Btw, ahrefs is quite expensive for newbies.

    Great post.

Backlink reverse engineering is always a great strategy.

One of the easiest ways to do this used to involve Quicksprout.com.

    Quicksprout has changed recently.

It no longer gives you very valuable clues as to the most popular social content on your competitor's website.

I wish there was another tool that would help me easily figure out which of my competitors content gets the most re-twitts on Twitter.

Does anybody know of such a tool even if it's paid?

I'm not sure if Buzzsumo does this.

I am looking for a tool that can help me figure out which of my competitor's content is the most popular on Twitter.

Once I figure out their most retreated pieces of content, I can then replicate the content and create a better version.

I would then go to the people that re-twitted that link and ask them to re-twit as well.

Of course this is an addition to replicating the backlinks of that very popular piece of content.

I'm not sure what that is.. article isn't the greatest, and I couldn't listen to the video for long. The article says "sponsored by ahrefs". The video is old though.. it's been live since September last year. Perhaps they got inspiration for the SEJ post from my piece.

Not necessarily. ahrefs is often overlooked.. it's a powerful piece of kit and does a lot more than people think.

Check out the most recent post on their blog. This is sort of a follow on from my post, only on data steroids.. David gets very detailed and analytical, an excellent read.
